Re: SD Gundam Gachapon Senshi 3 - No battery in cartridge..

Hey there, The answer is very simple and has nothing to do with the battery... The outer shell does not correspond to the PCB inside. Somebody swapped it The "SD Gundam 3 Gachapon" game is supposed to be a mmc3 TKROM board. Its code is HVC-3G. On your photo the board is a TSROM (also mmc3)...

Re: mario RPG with junk graphics

To be more explicit When comparing a 64K ram (of the 1L3B) to a 256k (as in a 1L5B) you'll see that 256K has two additionnal addresses : A14 (pin1) and A13 (pin26) So, when putting a 256k ram chip on a 1L3B board you need to make sure these pins 1 and 26 are going where they should! But I must admit...

Re: mario RPG with junk graphics

Hey there, Just as a reminder Super Mario RPG has a 265K of Ram (1L5B) while Kirby has only 64k (1L3B). You say you swapped the Maskrom AND the Ram... and that's OK. But, did you make sure the 1L3B board (which is planned for less Ram) has the necessary wiring to host a 256K RAM chip ? My guess is :...

Re: Almana no Kiseki FDS to MMC1 Repro Problem

Hey guys, sorry to dig this up but I also have a question. (I thought I might better use this existing thread rather than starting a new one). My question is rather simple : I have the Mottzilla patches but I don't know what to patch :P My first thought was trying th apply it on the Famicom Disk Sys...

I can only second the fact that RainWarrior expressed it very well and totally expressing my own thoughts...

Re: Issue with repro of "The Legend of Zelda Redux"

Not sure about the file... I think I took special attention to use what the hack requires infos.jpg But I will double-check Anyway, I don't make tons of repros. I make the hacks that really added something to the game (like a saving system) and that I whish to enjoy again and again on my real hardwa...

Re: Issue with repro of "The Legend of Zelda Redux"

The MMC1 version of this hack, which is indeed what you should be using, requires different hardware from the original Zelda. Instead of an 8 KB CHR-RAM chip, it needs a 32 KB one to support the animated backgrounds. You're seeing animation problems, suggesting this is your issue. Hey there, Now th...

Re: Issue with repro of "The Legend of Zelda Redux"

Dear Dwedit, Thanks for tour answer. You shouldn't be seeing any files with sizes of 180K. Start over with clean ROM files (This hack wants PRG0), and apply the patch to that. Yes, I know, what I called "initial ROM" on my printscreeen was the ROM already patched. Sorry for the misundersta...

Issue with repro of "The Legend of Zelda Redux"

Hi guys, I decided to make a repro of this wonderful hack of the first "Zelda" on the NES. Link for the lazy ones : https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5752/ :-P It was made by ShadowOne33 (https://github.com/ShadowOne333) who has already done a Redux hack of the second Zelda "Legend of ...

Re: SimCity prototype found!

I don't remember how I fixed the problem, but I do remember it was an easy fix. Oh my... that is good news and at the same time so frustrating :-D Would you mind sharing your ROM (if you still have it) with me? Or giving a try in refixing it? I am not very confident in doing it my self. My only exp...

Re: Sim City on Nestopia/Other emulators

Hey,

Yes it did.
I acquired (it was not always the case) the good habit of testing my donors before scarifying them for a repro.
That can spare a lot of questioning in case the repro has issues :-)

Re: Sim City on Nestopia/Other emulators

So, what should I do?
- Is there some extra rewiring that should be done?
- Should I reprogram my EPROMs? (Is there a ROM file of the game for use for repros?)

I hope you guys will help me getting working on my hardware
