Re: Any of your homebrew SNES games/gameplay demos I can try?

There's also Alisha's adventure, which isn't on that list.

Is that list supposed to be comprehensive with all the known SNES homebrew games I'd development, or just some specific examples made for game jams or something?

Re: Any of your homebrew SNES games/gameplay demos I can try?

I also saw recently that Vitor Vilela was talking about creating an actual SNES SDK in some form or another, which would be pretty dang awesome if that actually happens.

Cool. Dunno if something like this already exists or whatever, as I don't really code for the SNES, so never have to do any builds myself, but hopefully that's going to help the dev community then.

Re: Any of your homebrew SNES games/gameplay demos I can try?

https://snescentral.com/homebrew.php This list is pretty good. I'd also add to it Nekotako, which has a free demo: Nekotako Demo Yeah, I've seen that. It's one of the more polished homebrew SNES titles I've seen for sure. And the fish window/shape mask effect and the end of the levels is rather coo...

Re: Any of your homebrew SNES games/gameplay demos I can try?

https://snescentral.com/homebrew.php Does anyone have links to the old demo scene ROMs? by Anthrox and some other guys Thanks for that. I've checked most/all of those in the link before though, especially the stuff that's been on there for years. I've been looking at rom hacks, indie projects and j...

Re: Any of your homebrew SNES games I can try?

Did you check RHDN ? Is this stuff you guys are working on for SNES or just a whole bunch of random homebrew games and ROM hacks in general (it doesn't look to be for SNES only, as it has a GBA game right at the top and a PSX game further down the list)? I was meaning stuff the SNESdev community me...

Any of your homebrew SNES games/gameplay demos I can try?

Do you guys have some examples of the SNES games/gameplay demos you've made that I can check out, beyond the handful in the SNESdev Homebrew Projects thread? I notice there's only 23 threads in the SNESdev Homebrew Projects total in presumably the entire history of that forum, and I've already check...

Re: My God, this seriously could pass for a 32-bit game imo

Can anyone think of what music/movie/game the tune here is reminding me of: https://youtu.be/TG-KDvn7Rl0 It's so cool and really sets the tone of the fight to something very different from most boss battles you hear in typical 16-bit games, and I know I've heard something like it somewhere. Edit: I ...

Re: My God, this seriously could pass for a 32-bit game imo

Here's few more cool boss fights from the game, with the first one just looking really pretty: https://youtu.be/rzA3Nyz89dY And the second one just being cool because it has a dragon: https://youtu.be/o0l-TX1XEbQ And this one just for the hell of it: https://youtu.be/lT6K-5z_HXA Me thinks someone ne...

My God, this seriously could pass for a 32-bit game imo

If someone had told me this Trials of Mana boss fight was coming from a Sat/PSX game, I totally would have believed it: https://youtu.be/TG-KDvn7Rl0 And this one too: https://youtu.be/xjOU-qL4UNE I'm not exaggerating when I say both the visuals and sound there could 100% convince me that I was looki...

I posted a separate thread about this, but it totally makes sense to just put the comment here too after you talking about being equal to Sat/PSX in some ways: If someone had told me this Trials of Mana boss fight was coming from a Sat/PSX game, I totally would have believed it: https://youtu.be/TG-...

Re: [demo] SNES Sonic

I mean, Tiago did say he didn't intend on porting the full Sonic game, and that this was just to test his engine, which he plans to use for a custom Sonic-like game with unspecified Donkey Kong Country-like elements. Do you think he's still working on that game, and is it even for the SNES? I'm not...

Re: Space for 256-colour image plus second background?

Just use the same colors as your 256-color image and don't organize colors within the 256-color palette, your programmer will know what to do (if it's me). You're wasting too much time on details that can be automated. As I explained in a previous thread, scale your art down only when necessary rat...
