Re: Nes emulator for playdate?

I'm not too familiar with this system but judging by the specs it should be possible at full speed. Is it an open platform or do you have to use the SDK provided by the manufacturer? It's a closed platform. The SDK is freely provided, but explicitly proprietary . I believe there's some signing/encr...

Re: Overriding CPU divider from 16 to 15

The distinction between swapped and non-swapped duty cycles is not clearly-delineated between particular UMC CPU revisions -- on some revisions, different runs of the same revision can differ between the swapped and non-swapped behavior. I don't think there even exists a complete table as to which ...

Re: Overriding CPU divider from 16 to 15

Wait, does that mean that there are actually two "Dendy" timings that need to be considered when emulating games? I never meet those "old revision" chips in any of the famiclones, so technically not. Just because they're not common doesn't mean they're not worth emulating. If an...

Re: Nes emulator for playdate?

I think u can program directly with no sdk but not sure. it supports c throguh sdk so was hoping another open emulator could be ported like the redit post. Iv asked them but no response yet. I think what the redit post example dose for colors is assing a full screen dither pattern per color/hue and...

Re: Simplest way to integrate an nsf to your game code.

What are you using to create NSF files? As said already NSF files are complete ROMs and not just APU playback data, but depending on what program you're using to create NSFs you might be able to export as another format and integrate a compatible sound driver into your game.

Re: Troublesome cc65 debugging

Excuse me for jumping in here... but wouldn't seeing both the compiled assembly and the original C source (with the C as comments) be more useful for debugging than just seeing the C? Especially with the way the source code view has been described here, it doesn't sound very practical, but I guess I...

Re: Question: SnesTracker(?

The only reference I could find on Furnace Tracker v. SNES says that "SNES support" will be "soon" but "not SPC export" (possibly in the future, but not explicitly stated anywhere) Looking at the git history, there was a commit called "snes" merged in Septemb...

Re: Question: SnesTracker(?

However, as Furnace is not a development-focused program, it may be difficult to implement compositions you make in Furnace into your SNES programs - though you at least get an SPC export, so you could reverse engineer the sound driver included in the SPC. Furnace doesn't have SPC export yet, what ...

Ohhh. I forgot SMB1 was 32k PRG. Makes a bit more sense now.

Re: Video Game 3150 (old multicart with switches)

Makes you wonder why they went through the effort - wouldn't the space for just 1 more small NROM game be less expensive?

That SMB title hack I haven't seen before. Mind showing a proper screenshot?

Re: Question: SnesTracker(?

As of the latest dev versions, Furnace Tracker now supports the SNES sound system, though I'm not quite sure how complete the implementation is yet. Furnace is an open-source multi-system tracker and alternative to DefleMask that supports many sound chips, and its ease of use can be compared to Fami...

UMC-manufactured PPUs have a more saturated video output than the Ricoh originals, so the chip should be working as intended.

Did the site just go down?

About an hour ago or so I couldn't access the site, it just timed out. I came back and I see there's a new post in the NESemdev subforum but it was marked as read even though I never clicked it. Is it unread for anyone else? If not, is it possible to check my account for unauthorised logins?
