Re: NES Game I wrote in 1990

Yes. I haven't found [or had the energy/time to find] a [free] replacement deployment since Bintray went away.

This message was Mac specific.

Any suggestions?

FWIW nesicide can do CC65 or CA65 projects. Comes with Hello World sample projects of both.

Re: NES Game I wrote in 1990

I just checked and the DMG for nesicide, available here still works on my Mac.

However it's been ages [years] since I've done anything to or with it. The motivation/time has just been siphoned elsewhere. But I was fairly successful in using it to help create a game during a game jam in 2020.

It does. Or, it did, last I looked. ;) In either straight or mixed-mode.

I should figure out if my FTM Winamp plugin still works. "It seemed like a good idea at the time."

Re: I am interested in making homebrew, what is my first step?

I finished my first NES game in only 3 days, to learn attributes, back when I was still making Cat Quest. 8 days is plenty of time. And we 'finished' (ie. not 'polished') Super City Mayor in 48 hours. ;) Yes, I'm tooting my own horn but damnit, with only eight days left in this world at least...

I'm currently debugging a crash in the Linux appimage. I recently used it to help create a game for Global Game Jam 2020. Ad...

Re: uc65, a Mid-Level Language Compiler READY FOR USE!

Sorry for the bump. I'm just curious if anyone's actively using UC65? I noticed the download link on the website is broken.

I've fixed some issues that crept into nesicide with regard to the UC65 project Hello World template (my fault not UC65). But if nobody's using it I was considering removing it.

Super City Mayor (GGJ2020 entry)

Super City Mayor You're the mayor (and deputy, if two player) of a small town that's falling apart. Do your best to repair the breaking buildings (walk to, face, press A) before time runs out. Fix them all, and your approval rating will improve, but entropy will quickly increase as levels progress ...

Re: NESICIDE packages available

I don't 'typically' use anything in particular. I just tried to give as many ways of incorporating tiles as possible. The way demonstrated in the Hello World example is to import a binary file (PNG), and then add that to a Graphics Bank object. Another way is to create an Attribute Table object: htt...
