Re: 8x16 and whatever else unreg wants to know

.enum 0 BANANA_OFFSET .dsb 4 APPLE_OFFSET .dsb 4 KIWI_OFFSET .dsb 4 PEAR_OFFSET .dsb 4 ;(...) .ende Say I wanted to access the 4s… like 4, 4, 4, 4 would be #BANANA_OFFSET, #APPLE_OFFSET, #KIWI_OFFSET, #PEAR_OFFSET ? Or, that would actually be 0, 4, 8, 12 ? That would be fine too. :) So, if I wanted...

Re: currently going ahead

the horizontal arrow direction is the order of the data thata is trying to be reading by the PPU, it's is arranged like $0000, $0001, $0003, $0004 in where the red arrow is indicating, the questions are: how can I generate a .nam archive in the order that green arrow is directionating(the vertical ...

Re: currently going ahead

a.) If the entire screen’s tiles are written horizontally by mistake, that does NOT flip or rotate any tile. The screen’s arrangement would just be confusing. however they are appearing only flipped/turned, so the arrangemet of the data are in verticaly order(?) If your data is written to $2007 in ...

Re: currently going ahead

now I'm trying to understand what sector of the code I have to change to do that...or how to change the nametable data to coluns in the NESst edit: "to load 1 byte and then skip 31" means change the bit 2 of $2000 to 0(?) and what more?, that "what more" is what still yet seems ...

Re: currently going ahead

I'm trying to fill the ppu whith four .nam archives, all then appear in the screen but fliped/tuned Hmmm… I didn’t dl your ROMs bc I’m on cell phone and have no emulator on my phone; but,: When you say flipped/tuned, you mean flipped/turned? If that’s the case, then maybe the flipping or turning of...

Re: 8x16 and whatever else unreg wants to know

tokumaru, sigh, I think I’m understanding your FruitData much better now. To use this, I’ll have to change the routine: So that it doesn’t run from the beginning of FruitData to its end. Rather, I can use enum 0 to set up each Fruit, and then I’ll have to specify each fruit being loaded… hmm… I bet ...

Re: Mesen - NES Emulator

Is it possible to make Mesen not clear the CDL file when resetting a game? Yes, that is possible. Seems like I reported this much earlier in this thread, and Sour quickly fixed this in a newer version of Mesen. Are you running an older copy of Mesen? My version is DevWin-0.9.9.62 and .cdl files sta...

Re: 8x16 and whatever else unreg wants to know

3.) The ROM offsets are assigned with the = and so that means, in order to use those offsets, they’d have to be declared before code which uses the offsets? That would be impossible since my FruitData sits toward the ROM’s end. Maybe the offsets could also take up ROM space to fix that problem? Thi...

Re: Creating a decent manual

Or, you could easily convert each image to grayscale first, then view that grayscale, and finally make some simple color adjustments that translate well to grayscale. This takes a bit more work, but allows appropriate color use. :) EDIT: and, with graphics programs nowadays, the image can be quickly...

Re: Nerdy Nights week 3 to 8 for Asm6

I am ONLY ATTEMPTING to say that assembling and assemblers is NOT the same as compile and compilers. Compilers translate code written into assembly code that works on whatever machine where the compiling takes place. Assemblers translate their assembler code into ONLY the assembly code, that runs o...

Re: 8x16 and whatever else unreg wants to know

@tokumaru, it seems like your ROM labels idea won’t work for me for 3 2 reasons: 1.) My Fruitdata is NOT set up with specific items, so Fruit_Size would just be a number. And to specify that number each time, I’d have to use self-modifying code right? 2.) I can see how #Fruit_Size is 1, but, I guess...

Re: 8x16 and whatever else unreg wants to know

Thank you Jarhmander and tokumaru! :D I appreciate y’all’s reminder about lda (zp), y ! That’s kind of a bit of memory/instruction use/cycles spent to set up, but your idea tokumaru seems to be exciting! It even works with data stored In ROM! Wow! I’m going to try using that! Thank you so much! I’m ...

Re: 8x16 and whatever else unreg wants to know

Hi. Note: This question is a bit different from ^above. [EDIT]Gah! Sigh, sorry, the answer I’m seeking is actually exactly the same. After the game is assembled, the variable names don’t exist anymore. So, reassigning them is impossible. Looks like an ample opportunity to use more of this massive RA...

Yes, well sry about that //url… where did that come from. But anyway, regardless, those two WERE Wikipedia links, so that’s why I questioned your purpose with searching for NES info on Wikipedia. :)
