Hey guys, I'm the "Linux Nerd" in the credits for Nesicide. I didn't realize there was an actual interest in Nesicide with 64-bit platforms. It should run just fine, deps considered as we do have working version with 64-bit OSX (at least at one point)... If you want to express some interes...

Hey mr FamiTracker dev (jsr)

When are you going to hit our IRC channel to talk about porting your app over to Qt? I got cpow (NESICIDE) to kick MFC, I bet I can help you too :) I know a large amount of your code is tied directly to MFC but with collaboration you'll have a cross-platform tracker quicker than you think. Although ...

Well if I ever finish working on nesicide I could always explore in that area -- who knows. Technically the NES does have an expansion port (although its covered in the NES version) which could be use for memory, hard disks, etc. I think such a project would require collaboration between coders as w...

I got nesicide2 to build and run on gentoo amd64. Wrote an ebuild ( package manager file to install a package) but there is no installer. Perhaps the nesicide2.pro could be fixed to do a standard unix `make install` ? I did try to edit nesicide.pro but failed; I am not that familiar with qmake. I c...

Re: Linux on NES

Hello, I'm not sure whether someone asked the question before (I couldn't find a thread). I think it might be time for a Linux that runs on the NES. (Or does it already exist?) Sadfully I'm not that good in programming to do this but maybe someone of you like the idea. I mean Linux even runs on toa...

Hey if anyone wants to take a crack at building nesicide2 from scratch, I have finished the Wiki instructions for XP/Vista/7. The XP and Vista/7 instructions are exactly the same so it doesn't matter which one you try: http://wiki.nesicide.com/doku.php?id=developer_documentation Please let me know i...

I'm not sure I understand the plugin system yet, does that mean the plugins have to be written in lua, can't do them in C? Or is it like a DLL, where the language doesn't matter. The plugin system is based off of XML with lua scripting only -- it is platform independent as it is processed directly ...

Some updates: cpow (NESICIDE) officially has the annotated super mario brothers source compiling and running perfectly in NESICIDE2 now; great job! I have just finished integrating lua into NESICIDE2, and have began work fleshing out the plugin subsystem. Now this isn't your momma's plugin system. P...

Last post before getting back OT.. I have all 3 OSs on my machine (yes, OSx86 :p). I've recommend and installed Windows for more people than Linux -- and in both situations they've been happy so far. I just love trolling sometimes :p
