Like their incorrectly wired consoles, the Yobo converters connect chr /a13 and ciram /ce together. Notice how on the front pict there are 2 sets of bridged pins. One is for audio bypass (correct) and the other is ciram enable (wrong).

Of course if no games are working it is a different problem.

So you picked a form of contact he specifically says not to use? Did you try different email accounts in case of spam problems? Ever try AIM, IRC, NA chat, or physical letter? Pretty quick to give up on something so expensive.

So you bought them without knowing what they are, then think they are "secretive" when you don't understand the replies? That must be a customer service nightmare :)

Many clones are wired wrong. They connect CHR /A13 and CIRAM /CE internally instead of sending them to the cart connector. When you see games like Gauntlet or Rad Racer II on the incompatibility list, that is why. At least the Yobo, NEX, FC Twin, GN Twin, and Gen-X are all wired that way.

You can get it from retrousb, but good luck getting support if it does not work right. Ive had a super nintendo power pak thing for over a year and have emailed several times because it does not work properly, and have not had a single email response. Did you only email? Theres like 5 different way...

Youch, Bunnyboy seems entirely too worked up about this. And apparently Tepples is full of lies, LIES I TELLS YOU! Looks like he is worked up about tepples bitching instead of helping. Notice how many times tepples has posted here and there about the boards, without ever actually asking about them....

That was my question. Has anyone even bothered to ask him about the boards? Just because they aren't "offered" on the site right now doesn't mean he won't sell them. Maybe they aren't on the site because nobody ever contacted him with interest.

But he already has boards made. Look at the site selling carts with new boards like Splatterhouse, Dragon Scroll, SMB2j, Buzz and Waldog. Think those are MMC1? The Splatterhouse mapper has IRQ and fine CHR banking so I would bet cash that board can do MMC3/FME7/VRC2/VRC4/whatever.

I don't get it. All this talk about new boards for complex mappers but nobody attempts to contact the guy who already has them? Is it the profit problem again? Or that he posts on that other Nintendo site more now?

Biggest problem for most people in NesDev: "he spent too much time focusing on the technology -- being a perfectionist on the engine and not working on the content" So much discussion/debate/argument about new mappers, new complex boards, new tools, and no work on getting content to finish...

Of course you and your constant bitching about repros/money/profits was the problem for him and others. That should be obvious from the other thread where you started attacking him for just trying to discuss it.

They have one its just not affordable when the profits need to be split.

You can put a board file in the container. Thats great, now anyone can put a garbage board file in the container! I thought one of your goals was having no bad ROMs, and you just made up an easy way to create them. And screw color, and pcb scans, and 3d renders of the plastic molding, and game guid...

what do people want then? I'm honestly curious. Do I find this the perfect format? no. Do I think it's better than every other NES alternative? Yes. Something that supports all games, not just an arbitrary subset. Something that is easy for homebrewers to use. Something that is easy to parse for si...

I don't think anyone is trying to displace ines so much as provide an alternative to those who want it. It seems apparent that there is some interest or there wouldn't be this much discussion to begin with. Many people are interested in an alternative. There is this much discussion because this ide...
