First console with FPU
Greetings! I only have a quick question: which home video game console was the first to include floating point units in its hardware? Bonus question: what if we include "add-on" chips? I know that Capcom's CX4 was designed to help with trigonometric calculations, but I can't find whether i...

Re: New SNES game in development: Furry RPG (working title)

Re: MSU1 for A Link To The Past Problem
You want to use the patch with other games? Well, I don't think a "universal MSU1 patch" can be made... You'll have to find or make one for each game with which you want to use MSU1.

I have succeeded a while ago with Super Mario World, with the help from some technical documents. It's not much, but maybe this post can help you.

Re: GDSF7 PCX files.
Irfanview is a fine suggestion! If it doesn't work, you can probably do it with ImageMagick as well.

Re: SNES dev newbie questions
So I managed to complete a few tests / demos, but I have yet again come upon a problem I'm not sure I quite understand. This little project ( full code here ) only consists in displaying a picture. I used gfx2snes (a fork of pcx2snes I believe) on a 256px by 224px 8bpp PCX image, which resulted in t...
