UPDATE:
I finally got the SST chips today, and just made SMB2j repro with succes.
It works fine just as with normal EPROM chips! So, from now on I'm going to use EEPROM's!

Check pins 1 and 31 on your EPROM pinout. Those are the ones that are most often different. Here are two together: left EEPROM and right EPROM Only difference is 32d pinout notation, on EEPROM is it Vdd and on EPROM Vcc. But both are 5V... Don't know if it make any difference. Next week I'll get th...

Are you sure they are the same? Generally EEPROM's have a Write Enable line that EPROM's do not. You need to make sure on this point and tie the Write Enable line to Vcc, otherwise bad things might happen. Not very sure about that, but it looks very similar to 27C020 schematics http://www.desk4u.nl...

Thanks guys, I just checked the data sheet and the pinout for SST27SF020 EEPROM seems to be the same as for EPROM 27C020...
So I think it should work...
Thanks for help!

EEPROM Wiring

Just a quick question... Does an EEPROM needs a different wiring than an EPROM when used on a nes board? And if it does where can I find the pinout info?

Thanks!

The mirroring is changed by the game via the MMC3, So you have no worries about changing the mirroring on the board via solder pads. :) http://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/MMC3#Mirroring_.28.24A000-.24BFFE.2C_even.29 Good luck with this man! ^_^ Cool, thanks! That means I don't need to change anythi...

TKROM Mirroring

I want to put a custom nes rom, wich is mapper 4 and needs a battery backup, on a TKROM donor board. But this nes rom has vertical mirroring, does TKROM have V or H mirroring or both? Can I change it to fit on TKROM?

Noob question on replacing CIC

It's maybe a stupid question but is it possible to replace ntsc cic chip d411 with pal one d413 to make ntsc game run on a pal snes? Would it work?
I've tried to solve it with FX converter aka honeybee but I just get a solid black screen... Any idea's are welcome...
Thanks.

SuperMario Adventure reproduction question

Have a question about SuperMario Adventure that I want to reproduce. I've patched SMB3 rom with appropriate hack, tested on the emulator, works grate. I’ve split the rom into CHR and PRG files. The PRG is 256KB but CHR is only 160KB... The question is, do I need to copy CHR data to make it 256KB or ...
