Good development oriented emulators on Linux or BSD systems?

I generally like to develop on Unix-like systems. Currently I'm on a macbook and I've found getting good tools built for OSX rare and hard to come by. Compiling open source tools has often been fussy and difficult process too. I've had this same problem in the past whenever booting in Ubuntu. DOSbox...

Re: Arduino based projects for the nes?

From some casual google searching, I found this project that uses an Arduino to make an NES USB controller. This has got me thinking. Could an Arduino be used as a solution to getting keyboard input through the standard controller ports? I've wanted to see projects such as an assembler, machine code...

Trying to assemble the SMB disassembly in CA65

Evening, I'm trying to use CA65 to assemble doppelganger's smbdis.asm file. The issue is with ld65. I've followed the instructions in his thread and generated the smbdis.bin file. However now I don't know where to go. I've been reading the CC65 documentation page of ld65 for a couple of hours and I'...

Why do you personally homebrew?

Hmmm, since this is my first post on the forum, I guess I should introduce myself before the main topic. Hi there, the name's Will. I've been a bit of a lurker of this site for about 2 and a half years now. I have wanted to make an NES game since I was about 13, but never had the patience to learn a...
