e&e chinese learning famiclone cartridge
I found those pics accidentally there: https://www.deviantart.com/chickengeorge88/art/Chinese-Learning-Machine-Computer-Famiclone-860176775 Looks like the cartridge is a part of educational keyboard famiclone (e&e chinese learning famiclone) https://obrazki.elektroda.pl/2788872300_1674780301_thu...

Re: Strange cartridge
Hmm, looking at this poor quality picture I see the CHR pins are not connected to anything at all.
So I assume either the cartridge does not display anything or.. uses console internal VRAM as chr-ram ?

Comos Cop (from Caltron 6-in-1) hangs on SOME CPU+PPU
There is a game "Cosmos Cop" from the "Caltron 6 in 1" multicart. It works fine on Dendy CPU+PPU title.jpg dendy1.jpg dendy2.jpg However, when used in NTSC timing console, title screen shows normally, then the intro shows and when the main game starts, it just hangs. One time i w...

Re: AV Famicom with peculiar graphical glitches.
In the summer I was lucky to borrow one of those famicoms with failty RP2C02G-0 for tests and one of the following fixed the issue: * adding those 100R resistors (I added them there, so looks like culprit might be the 74lvc245 5->3.3V buffer +----------+ +----------+ +----------+ | 5V SRAM | |3.3V F...

Re: AV Famicom with peculiar graphical glitches.
I mean the console is sending some broken video signal that causes TV lose its sync, but when I played your video in slow down, it affects only the background. Energy bar, that is displayed using sprites, is not affected. Something that would happen if the PPU scroll is written in the middle of fram...

Re: AV Famicom with peculiar graphical glitches.
1) Your console has buggy RP2C02G-0 PPU that requires 100R resistors to be soldered in series with the CPU data bus. 2) This looks like your TV has some problems with sync (?), no idea what causes that, maybe non-stable power, caused by high current consumption of the everdrive? Or maybe everdrive d...

Re: Famicopier
I looked how the 60 pin vs 56 pin sockets are wired in the blue cartridge from your photo and I see that the pins I considered to be PRG-A/D in the 56 pin connector are CHR-A/D and vice versa, so the fami copier might be able to write full 32 kB CNROM games. Good question is what drives the CHR-A13 ...

Re: Famicopier
Thanks for wonderful quality images. Pleasure to work with. Looks like the upper (56 pin connector) is not used for target cartridge, but rather some intermediate board, consisting of socketed 2 EPROMS (32 kB PRG, 16 kB CHR) that after programming, will be soldered to the target cartridge. Data from...

WOuld it be possible to make photos without those sticked pieces of black insulation tape?

Re: Cartridge database
Thanks for putting this out there. Having this centralized and searchable in this form is very useful. I look forward to making my insomnia worse as I browse this late at night. You don't happen to have CRC data to go along with all of these? That would be EXTREMELY helpful in linking dumps to know...

Re: Help collecting pictures of CPU and PPU packages
In behaviour (M2 divider, M2 duty) identical to regular UA6527P: seniton 6527UP.jpg I've got also 3 UA6527P with -BW after date code. None of them works, even no M2 is output. Either all are broken or what is more probable, there is something subtle with their clocking circuit, as the clock from fam...

Re: iNES Mapper 12 (MMC3A?)
Just saw wiki article about this mapper. Huang-1 has identical pinout to the C5052-13 . GAL16V8 is connected as follows: +-------------------------------------------+ | +---v---+ | +->- CLK_IN -> |01 20| -- VCC | CPU_D1 -> |02 19| -> CLK_OUT ->------+ CPU_nROMSEL -> |03 18| -> CHR_A18 CPU_A14 -> |04...

Re: Dumping a multigame 1000 in 1 NES Cartridge with INLretro
Looking at the font from main menu, I bet i saw something similar before. After a few minutes I found out I rev-en something like that before: I think this might be the same mapper. https://forums.nesdev.org/viewtopic.php?p=222458 BTW. Why google stopped indexing forums.nesdev.org so well after movi...
