Re: 2FA is no good

There are certainly selfish and amoral people, but our current systems have a knack for elevating those people into arbitrary positions of power over others
Selfish and amoral people will put themselves into arbitrary positions of power over others regardless of the system of government.

There are no submappers in iNES. You need a NES 2.0 header for submappers.

Re: Famicom Network System (aka Famicom Modem) Investigations

I've linked a friend of mine to this thread. He does a lot of IT/Dev stuff and he's intrigued. He's curious if you guys are trying to spoof a connection with these modems.
It should be possible to get it talking to a PC modem using a two-port VoIP adapter (ideally Sipura/Linksys/Cisco, since I ...

Re: 2FA is no good

It's just an example of why I have no faith in our government.
But it's an example of the government doing what people voted for? Yes, if people vote for a government that will shoot them in the foot, the government will shoot them in the foot.

My years of experience with water insecurity as a ...

Re: 2FA is no good

Hah, our country is on the daily trying to dismantle FEMA.
FEMA wouldn't exist without the government. They're only trying to dismantle it because that's what people voted for.

In my hometown, there would be some water boil advisory every three to six months due to the incompetence of the ...

Re: 2FA is no good

It has been decided that your provision of water to the community is a matter of a capitalistic job sometimes for profit rather than doing it *because it can be done*.
Hold on, I thought we were talking about building your own water purification equipment, not building an entire water utility and ...

Or I can learn what I need to know to survive without water infrastrucutre like over a billion years of life managed to.
You know a lot of them didn't survive, right? Safe drinking water is a relatively modern invention.

And now we have it.
Sure, but "over a billion years of life" didn't ...

I'd rather be fed and housed as a guarantee
But your proposal is that we should get rid of the one entity powerful enough to guarantee food and housing to everyone in the country.

Or I can learn what I need to know to survive without water infrastrucutre like over a billion years of life managed ...

There are, but I don't know if any support oversize mapper 165 or even what size would be considered "oversize" in the first place.

Re: 2FA is no good

Because it isn't sharing, it's not a resource that is being shared on equal terms with biologic beings moving of their own volition and this product sold by a handful of companies.
First, why do you think it's not sharing? Sharing doesn't imply equal terms, and the other party is the person ...

Re: Chatterine Snuggles's RE'ing thread

But, would it run on any emulators we know of?
Probably not without modifying the emulator. There's nothing out there that needs oversize MMC4.

Or, on real hardware for that matter. Same thing applies to mapper 165, the mapper used by the Chinese Translation of Gaiden.
Not with an original MMC4 ...

It's not that they can't claim it, its just that I can counter-claim it on equal terms

And the rest of the folks who depend on the field for sustenance are presumably just chopped liver then?
If you can bring your community to the fight, so can they ...
