When bypassing the regulator, voltage spikes could damage the console. Even battery powered stuff normally use a regulator.
Maybe try using a switching/buck converter instead of the 7805.

Re: Winamp is dead
For my part I know I will continue to use winamp for a good while still. Until I feel a good reason to switch to another player.

Re: Console ports that are better than their arcade counterp
Same thing goes for Guerrilla war. The music is so much better on the NES version that I prefer it to the arcade version.

Re: SNES controller not working: Damaged Ricoh 5a22?
I will try to compare default Logic state of the controller inputs on the CPU to those of a good SNES. I did just that and I get the same readings on a healthy SNES that I do on my Ill one. THat is every connection is High minus JPSTR that is low. That is while running a game. JPIO6: H JPIO7: H 417...

Re: SNES controller not working: Damaged Ricoh 5a22?
The SNES was still powering up with the LED lighting and all, just it was not playing any games. I tried it one hour later and it worked again! So maybe this is indeed a self resetting fuse mechanism somewhere. I tried pocky and rocky again and it did the same glitch. So I changed game. It sems to w...

Re: SNES controller not working: Damaged Ricoh 5a22?
Hmm that's good to know but all my hardware is NTSC-US. I made more tests this morning. I was trying the front panel from the defective SNES in another SNES and when I inserted the controller in the 2nd player port. The console was glitching and making weird noises so I stopped that. I thing There i...

SNES controller not working: Damaged Ricoh 5a22?
I got a couple SNES in a junk lot and im having a frustrating controller issue on one of them. Which is an old SHVC-CPU-O1 with separate sound board and BA6592 encoder. The SNES plays games but controller does not work. I know my controller works, it works on all my other SNES. The front panel is ge...

Re: Tototek GBA to SNES adapter
I have just published all my audio fixes for the AD adapter. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?48386-Sound-fixes-for-the-Tototek-GBA-SNES-AD-Adapter What tepples suggested is exactly what the Innovation GBA TV converter did. It taps into the raw clocked LCD signals and connects it ...

Re: Tototek GBA to SNES adapter
This GBA to tv adapter is complete junk, I bought one and was really disappointed. The AD adapter blows it out of the water. I do not know how the AD adapter achieves such a beautiful full screen scaling, almost seems like magic. I will try to take some screenshots. There is some filtering obviously...

Re: Tototek GBA to SNES adapter
I finished my Audio fixes. Pretty much all the issues are solved, Honestly I was not even nearly hoping to do this good with improving the sound on that adapter. I am very happy and a little proud, when I started modding less than 3 years ago I barely knew anything. The Fixes are relatively simple a...

Re: Tototek GBA to SNES adapter
I am interested in it except 1) I want more information on what scaling algorithm it uses for its output 2) Is it outputting interlaced video? 3) Can you pull anything better than composite video? Also what sound fixes have you done? R1: Sadly I cannot tell you about the scaling algorithm, I can te...
