Re: Re-enable feed?
app.php is now accessible again. Yesterday the event we had was using a huge amount of resources and slowing the site down. I had tried to block the event via firewall, but I was playing whack-a-mole with the massive amount of IPs that were abusing the server. Anyhow, it stopped and everything is ba...

Re: Weird smiley in some thread title
Not sure how this was able to happen, but the topic had a 'topic icon' assigned to it even though we have that feature disabled in phpBB. No other topics in the database had an icon set either...

Hmm, still hasn't sent out the notification email for my reply yet either.

Re: Extra notification e-mails
Thanks for the feedback. I was trying to understand if this was a new problem, or had always been a problem. Fiskbit just pointed me to a thread on the phpBB forums explaining this is a common problem and some tips on how to improve it. I just made some changes to our config. Essentially phpBB tries...

Re: Extra notification e-mails
I dont see any reason there could have been a log jam of sorts, or why you're getting notifications after you read the threads.... phpBB strikes again. Checking the email sent logs I can see you got 11 emails over a 2 hour period, and nobody else got a rush of emails like this though. Let me know if...

Re: Wiki image history destroyed on Sept 21 2021?
Sadly the history for images was lost at this time because of how mediaWiki handles exporting/import files.
I am looking into possible solutions to how we can properly restore the history.

Re: Searching for OAM DMA: To be or not to be?
phpBB has limited options for how it can build a search index. Currently we are using MySQL Full Text searching, which by default is limited to 4 characters for performance reasons. Since I have been hosting the site for a year now and collected performance data over that time, I am willing to adjus...

It has now been fixed, not sure what went wrong. We use AutoSSL and reviewing the logs from yesterday the daily script acknowledged it was about to expire but for some reason did not issue a request for a new one...

Re: Are you aware of any phpBB forum where posting stopped working recently?
Thanks for sharing this. Looking at those forums, they are both running phpBB 3.2.x which is for older, no longer supported versions of PHP. Applying updates to phpBB is honestly a major pain and why many forums end up out of date... But I am unsure what would cause this issue for them; I cannot thi...
