Re: Help to program 16 bit EPROMs on a 8 bit programmer

That's a nice Idea.
I think I have floating around an old MegaDrive GameGenie PCB.
Maybe just putting connectors where the old 8-bit ROMs are may do the trick.
I just need to remember where did I left it if it still exists in some way. :|

Re: Help to program 16 bit EPROMs on a 8 bit programmer

That's an interesting information.
Unfourtunatelly, if I've read the datasheet correctly, it seems that the /BYTE pin is also the VPP pin.
Unless there's a trick that I didn't figure out yet I'm busted.
The EPROM is a ST 27c800.

Help to program 16 bit EPROMs on a 8 bit programmer

Hi. I've been trying to program 16-bit EPROMs, but my programmer only supports the 8-bit ones. It's a Genius G540. I tried to find some kind of updated software that could support at least a 27c4100 with no luck. I tried to use an SNES DIY game PCB to do the work: WhatsApp Image 2022-01-13 at 07.36....

Re: Wrong SNES video

Some time ago, DogP repaired a bunch of Super System Arcades.
They're based on the SNES board.
He was kind to share his logs here.
They were very helpful to me, hope they can help you too. :-)

Re: ROM Database

Sorry to bump an old topic, but that's cool!! The UNROM hack works if you add a WRAM and a circuit to prevent bus conflicts. Here is the mess: WhatsApp Image 2021-11-15 at 20.35.06(1).jpeg WhatsApp Image 2021-11-15 at 20.35.06.jpeg 20211114_201908.jpg 20211114_201934.jpg 6f934533e289d6d6bfbf5d9403a4...

That's very sad to know.
I didn't know him personally, but I admired his work a lot.
I think the only thing I can do for now is to pray for his soul.

I think the input pins of the controller IC may be these 3 marked in red.
I really would like to hear the opinion of more experienced users, like Lidnariq and Krzysiobal.

Re: Adding DB9 port for controller 1 to Power Joy

Could you please take a better picture focusing the small blob that seems to be connected to the d-pad and the 2nd controller connector?
That blob seems to be like the controller IC, maybe it's possible to add the port by picking the tracks that go to it.

Re: Can't fix CHR pinswap problem

After doing the file preparation, erasing, and programming the EPROM again everything went fine.
Not sure what I did wrong, but now it's all fine now.
Thank you. :-)

Re: Can't fix CHR pinswap problem

Did the said swaps. Things are better, but not perfect. Did I mess with all the 6 swaps? It seems so. 20210424_233416.jpg 20210424_233443.jpg These are the swaps I was supposed to do: CHR O A A12=A7 A11=A10 A10=A12 A9 =A11 A8 =A9 A7 =A8 Looks like it didn't swap anything! Tomorrow, I'...

They're the wrong tiles.
I'll post pictures of the screen, hopefully I won't be making the developers angry:

[SOLVED] Can't fix CHR pinswap problem

Hi. A friend of mine asked me to do a repro of a NROM game he bought. Since it's a commercial game that's being sold, I think it's better to not post the ROMs or pictures. He bringed me this UNROM PCB: 20210422_091334.jpg 20210422_091353.jpg So far so good, the ROM pins are swapped. I took a look an...

Re: Help to find mistake for Circuit with NO SRAM

Oops!
Looks like I misread it again.
I saw each mux selecting 8 bits out of 16, but in fact they're selecting 4 ou of 8.

Re: Help to find mistake for Circuit with NO SRAM

Taking a better look at the schematics, shouldn't you be enabling only one of the multiplexers?
It looks like both are being enabled and having their output connected to the bus at the same time.
Maybe I'm not understanding it totally, but isn't a not gate needed in this case?
