Famicom expansion audio is too loud!
My original Famicom has always had this problem. Currently I have it AV modded and am simply tapping off pin 45 for audio. The pin directly next to it, pin 46, produces noticeably louder 2A03 audio but it lacks expansion audio entirely. Any ideas whats wrong?

Re: FDS .qd format?
I think I found a lead on where the runtime patches are stored. I did a search on the entire /usr/share/ directory for the byte sequence 10 0A 17 18 17, which spells "GANON" in the game's text encoding. I found only 1 file with this byte string: /usr/share/games/nes/kachikachi/CLV-P-HAANJ...

Re: FDS .qd format?
If you didn't know, the version of The Legend of Zelda on the Famicom Mini features a prologue that isn't in broken English. Anyways, after a lot of searching, I was finally able to find the game inside of the console - but, it's in Nintendo's .qd format, so I can't actually write it to a physical ...

Twin Famicom Power Supply
So, I recently got a twin famicom which included a power adapter with the following specs Input: AC100-240V 50/60Hz Output: DC 7.5V ~ 1500mA The problem is that I get this annoying buzzing sound, and the disk system doesn't seem to work, but that might be due to a missaligned spindle head. I'll swap...

Is there a Zelda FDS translation yet?
Metroid has a nice one from what I remember, although besides the intro and ending which feature engrish, the translation really serves no point. Zelda, on the other hand, would greatly benefit from a good translation - all things considered, not even the NES one was very high quality. Is there a fa...

Where can I find a famiclone computer keyboard set?
Does anyone know where I can find one of these? I know that the Subor SB-2000 used to be available from Taobao for cheap, but I put off buying it and missed out on it.

Coping games to PC with FDSloadr?
I can't try it out now, but would I be correct in assuming that the way to copy the contents of an FDS disk to a PC via fdsloadr would be to: 1)get a blank FDS disk file 2) copy the contents of your game into that blank disk file using fdsloadr and a tool like DiskHack I would try it out myself but ...

Alright, so I have all of that, what now?MottZilla wrote:You don't need a Game Doctor. FDSStick can write disks if you create the required adapter cable. All you need is a FDS Drive that has been modified to write entire disks and the FDSStick + Cable. No Game Doctor is required at all.

Re: SMB/SMB 2 combo
My FDS has a power board revision 03, and there is not very much information on it. It looks identical in every way to the 02, does this mean that write modding it is not necessary?

Re: SMB/SMB 2 combo
You don't need a Game Doctor. FDSStick can write disks if you create the required adapter cable. All you need is a FDS Drive that has been modified to write entire disks and the FDSStick + Cable. No Game Doctor is required at all. I've checked Famicom World, but I haven't been able to find any sort...

Re: SMB/SMB 2 combo
Anyone could have had SMB and SMB2 on the same disk thanks to the Disk Writer. These days, with the right hardware you can rewrite Disks. If the data really did get corrupted, that's what you'll have to do. FDSSTICK, http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12163 http://3dscapture.com/fdsst...
