Re: Hi-Def NES FAQ?

2. While playing Super Mario / DuckHunt I noticed I get these random horizontal lines flickers maybe 1-2 pixels tall. They don't happen all the time but they do happen. Part of me thinks it's just the game, but again, just making sure it is "normal." There's a ips patch fix for the scanli...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

I noticed some hi def boards are different colors than the one I have, which is blue. Is there any difference on the revisions besides the hdmi connector placement. Any pro or cons from one to another.

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

The two monitors in question are an ASUS VH236H and an ASUS VX238H. Both have built-in speakers. The problem happens when using the built-in speakers and when using an external speaker through the line-out connector. I've tried using many different HDMI cables but the results are always the same. B...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Any word on any firmware updates?? I've had my kit installed since around July I believe? I'm still hopefully some of those problematic games with line glitches can be fixed maybe. Thanks

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

More options is always better, now we just need a couple of the best color palettes to be listed.

Edit: Testing out a few different palettes on a emu, I found SONY_CXA2025AS_US.pal looked the best to me.Download

SMB sceenshot using it.

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Yep, he also wrote that hidef Nes wouldn't be affected, so maybe an upgraded kit is possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxTYcfILeuw&lc=z12pvra4apb1cjo1q22qivhj5u35czwrb04.1472926544030191 I didn't mention that part cause he was talking about software updates. I highly doubt we'll see a ha...

kind of related but I did ask kevtris if this analogue deal would affect the Z3k, he said it wouldn't. that's really all I was worried about.

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Can anyone explain the palette differences that Mega is seeing for the Super Mario Bros background on the Hi-Def NES vs NesRGB: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=215022036&postcount=103 Supposedly the same palette is used but they look very different. http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/d...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

For all those asking about the 5x height option it sounds like the new Analague Nt mini (also designed by kevtris) might support it. In their technical specs (https://support.analogue.co/hc/en-us/articles/224996908-Analogue-Nt-mini-vs-Analogue-Nt) they say: "Pixel Formatting: 5x, 4.5x, 4x at 1...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

The fix is supposed to be "try playing with each of the four options for Despeckle"... Yeah it does help with some games, like smb1. Other games its either lines or speckles, I'm thinking maybe more despeckle options maybe?? I dunno I'm just hopefully some of these games can be looked at....

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Guerilla War / Iron Tank thing is known NES PPU bug. This has been discussed already. But the bug will only show up on some CPU/PPU alignments, which is probably the reason you didn't see it on original NES when you tested it. You have to reset a few times before it shows up. Yes this is correct, I...

Noah98 wrote:I just checked Guerrilla War and it has the same line glitches. Does Despeckle 3 fix the lines, but add speckles?
Seems so, On Guerrilla war with me Phase 2 fixes the lines, but I do see speckles using phase 2. I'm really hoping for a possible fix\solution for some of these titles.

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

All is well, but Iron Tank still has weird line glitches in the center of the screen. I don't have these withiron Tank on my original nes on a crt. It might be that they are only noticeable because the picture is so clear, but I still think it might be a glitch with the hdmi board. I was wondering ...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Considering kevtris made a whole video him testing the thing with a HDMI compliancy tester. I think your monitor is probably an exception. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoFeCj1hF_8 I've watched all the videos, but considering it only does it with the kit, I thought it was worth pointing out. It i...
