XMPlay with it's MIDI plugin is great.

Would using the RF cable for video and the yellow a/v cable for audio make any difference?

Is this only a problem with certain NES's? I've done some recordings from a PAL NES and haven't heard any noteworthy noises.

Bought the adapter and the console seems to work without any problem. Too bad none of the controllers work, except for the start button on one of them. The sound is much worse than I remember it :P

Which I guess they aren't? Will the adapters I liked to work then? In the description it says it has minus polarity on the center conductor.

I see which one you mean, but I still don't know if this means it has a minus or plus polarity.

You look for symbols like this: Usually they are printed right next to the power socket, sometimes along with the voltage. I don't see any symbols there. The only symbol is the right one found on the broken AC Adapter. Here's what it looks like inside the console. I'm not sure what I should be look...

Both are fine. However, make sure the polarity is correct. Some DC adapters with the same size of the connector has plus inside, minus outside, others has minus inside, plus outside. I'm not sure I follow you. You aren't sure if the Good Boy takes AC, DC or both? The adapter for the Good Boy says AC Adaptor on it if that's any help.

What about the differences in Volt/Ampere?

Played through Swords and Serpents. Only tracks used was 1, 2 and 6. I do like some of the glitch tracks though :)
