Re: A more accurate NES palette?

Welp — because I can't ever leave anything be, I decided to hook my NES up to my ATi TV Wonder Value Edition capture card again, this time with specific settings (that I'll post if anyone's curious). After some wizardry, and then some minor modifications to parts of the output (and, in the case of f...

Re: A more accurate NES palette?

Link me the test ROM and I'll try it on my PowerPak tonight. It's right here in his own thread. :) Also, while I was searching for that thread, I stumbled upon this thread where someone did pretty much the exact same thing I did — and got a palette that looks nearly identical to what I posted in th...

Re: A more accurate NES palette?

... does Nintendulator (or other popular emulators) implement color emphasis accurately? I'm quite curious as well; I was under the impression (possibly due to NEStopia) that Color Emphasis only affects $x0-$xD* — not $xE or $xF: NEStopia_palette_013.png But in Nintendulator, you can clearly see th...

Re: A more accurate NES palette?

Here, I made one with Rainwarrior's palette tool and Nintendulator and Photoshop. Hm, odd — I'd've thought that the emphasis would be somewhat 'uniform' across the various combinations, but it isn't. ò.O (Id est: on color $00 with the red emphasized, the RGB values are 108,64,59; I'd expect blue, t...

Re: A more accurate NES palette?

I apologize in advance for the long-winded rambling; it is early, and I've had not much sleep. EDIT (2015/12/25): The palette in this post is now outdated. Please look for the newer post I've made in this thread, which contains a much better palette. :) The image shall remain attached for historical...

Re: Anyone Interested in a Combined NES + Gameboy Cart?

I totally want one of these, but sadly I have a SIDE-loading NES system (equipped with a Blinking Light Win), and no TV capable of accepting HDMI signals.

It sounds fantastic, though! :D

I'd like to re-request a rip of D-Pad Hero (which has only been mentioned once, a few pages ago — and oddly not by me…), and I submit Neil Baldwin's own rip of Erik the Viking *, an old game from 1992 that was never released. Too bad, really — it sounds like it might've been cool. *Check the bottom ...

Cut off: Battletoads - Track 19 (the interludes with Professor Bird/The Dark Queen) There's a nifty tune that plays on the square waves that you don't get to hear in the game itself. :) Semi-related to this post: does anyone have a Game Genie code or something for Battletoads that would allow you to...

After installing drivers, openOffice , Ew, talk about bloat! XP Word '97 FTW! :D It's what I use; takes up less than 100MB of space — at least, the Program Files part of it does. Plus, it was the second Word that I ever used — first was Word '98, but we can't find the key that went with it, even th...

Oh, and glad you like my new avatar =). I know that I was not the receiver of this comment but I would like to say that your previous avatar was looking ok but now with this palette, it really stands out. It look better, I like it. It's interesting to see how a few colors can make a big difference....

Well, thanks. :D I think that I'll get a second 72-pin connector, though, just to be on the safe side — I want to have a backup in case I end up mutilating the first one. ^^;

Oh, right! xD Hehe, yeah, I totally see the sense in the slots now. Definitely would not work without filing it. And nuts — I was hoping I could just do a simple pin-mod. D: Didn't know I'd have to leave the pushy-downy thing out, or the shielding. :( I've been toying around with the mobo and connec...

I'm seriously considering doing this very soon*, and I'm just wondering — it looks like you filed a pair of slots into the connector; I'm guessing this is so that the thing that you slide the game into and slide down won't get hung up on the connector? I'd also like to know, what kind of file do you...

Just tossing an idea out here, but what if someone who had the official documentation typed it up on his (or her) computer into their own words, and made their own little diagrams of stuff that Nintendo had diagrams of? Would that still be illegal distribution, even though it was in their own words ...
