Thanks for documenting your findings. Family Basic (...) I'm thinking the cart won't boot unless the famicom keyboard is hooked up (I don't have one) That's correct. Nestopia currently emulates m87 incorrectly. This hardware handles up to 32K VROM, not just 16K. Both bit 0 & 1 of $6000 are used....

True. Neither did the Super NES, except for a few poorly architected programs. Slowdowns, no. Though I always thought SNES games in general - I'm sure there are exceptions - felt kind of slow when compared to Megadrive games. That is coming from a 12-year-old me who didn't even know or understand t...

No, some games actually look pretty good, even if you take away the fact that this console was introduced in 1977 and is very primitive when compared to the NES.

Yes, this morning, I saw someone posted a link to this thread. Looks like that post got deleted afterwards.

Ah, I didn't think he'd be harming anyone else but himself.

It seems you're on the memberlist tokumaru, unlike Bregalad, so maybe your account got activated now?

They're not dumb. Seeing he's been around long, and made over 1000 posts, they logically trust him. Saying the NES can't display yellow can be defended by blaming it on his tv-card (or whatever he claims to use as capture device). In fact, any shot at disproving those images/sounds can easily be def...

Exactly what I think could happen. They'd see how easy it was to take down this emulator, and might get over-confident, and go after the mainstream emulators afterwards.

Don't worry, I won't do this, just an interesting thought.

You've been fooled by the excellent capabilities of Sunsoft's composers. :P This is plain vanilla NES audio.

It looks like the domain name expired, and a spam company quickly bought it. Do you happen to have the server IP? That might still work.

I see you use a CLI to enable vblank NMI? SEI and CLI only affect IRQ, not NMI. If you're never going to use IRQs, the simplest solution would be a SEI at the start of your program (like you have right now), and never ever use CLI. The cleaner solution would be to use SEI like above, and disable eve...

Though it's not as common as eg. Castlevania 2, I wouldn't consider it rare at all, there are plenty of NES CV3 carts on eBay every day.

Trebor is right to assume it's a fraud, since you clearly stated that this emulator was your work. You can't erase the past by editing your post like you did on the atariage forum.

We'll let the maintainer of RockNES decide on whether or not it's ok that you continue to release this hack.

It's a hack of RockNESX 2.0 final. Examination of the core reveals that it's a byte for byte copy. Christian Baker is kind of stupid to put his real name in the about box (if that is his real name) :P

RockNES is closed source.
