Re: SNES SPC700 negative values for Main volume and Echo vol
By polarity are you just referring to an inversion of the phase for the output? Is that all it is?

SNES SPC700 negative values for Main volume and Echo volume?
What exactly does a negative value mean in regards to the sound itself? As in technically, what does a negative value mean. The best I can describe it is that when you activate negative values, or mix negative and positive values you get a distinctly hollow sound. Distinctly SNES sound. I am wonderi...

Re: Inquiry: Using Pitch Modulation outside of SNES developm
Is that all it is? Do you know if the BRR sample is the one actually modulating itself then? Since it's just a toggle on the SNES, I am curious as to what it means when you actually flick that toggle. Where does the modulator come from to modulate this carrier? I did some preliminary searching on th...

Re: Inquiry: Using Pitch Modulation outside of SNES developm
Context helps, I suppose. This is not the best use of Pitch Modulation, but the effect is basically an attempt at a demon screaming in defeat. I hear that sound and I wonder how it could be harnessed to create more tailored sounds, such as the Lavos scream, or even if it could be utilized musically ...

Inquiry: Using Pitch Modulation outside of SNES development?
Hello, it's been a very long time since I posted here last, but after an exhausting search on the internet, I feel like I have to bow down to the masters of this stuff and humbly ask for help. Note: TL;DR? Skip to "My Question" My situation: I write chiptunes and synth music, and recently ...

Hey Gil! I've been lurking this forum a lot since around 2006, but I would be happy to update the list so that it is 100% current. It's been so long, I am certain that a few have been ripped since I last updated it. Plus, I bet there are a few more un-ripped games to find  . I'll try and do thi...

However, now that you mention it, I might be using the 81.exe. I notice there is also an 81v2.exe. That must be the one I need.
Checking now.
Hmmm. Still no wav file... At least not in the folder I extract it too.

Ok, my question then is this. Is there a way to make a wav file sound like a DPCM file. For example, if I wanted my new rock song to have vocals that sound like the guy from Blades of Steel, is there a way to manipulate my raw wav file to sound like an NES DPCM file. Just for the effect of it, outsi...

Ok, so I've started making music with FamiTracker, so I actually need to know how to make DPCM samples now, not just make wavs that sound like them. Tepples, I am really exited to use your program for this, but I really have no idea how to convert the files. Any chance you could quickly point form t...

I think the ultimate would be a program exactly the same as this DPCM Converter that saves things to wav files. As far as Trackers are concerned, we only need to sound to be authentic. Bucky, I've never had a problem opening full songs in the DPCM converter. Just so long as they are in wav file. The...

Download an audio editing program such as Sonic Foundary Vegas, Cubase, Cool Edit Pro, or ANYTHING, and record the wav file directly to the audio program. You have to sit and listen to it as it records, but at least then you know when to cut it off, and you can add a fade to it right away. Another o...
