I finally got round to testing this with 100ns RAM (as I mentioned, I was using 55ns before). Unfortunately, nothing changed :(
Maybe 120ns is really the fastest you can go without issues.
I wonder if it would be possible to create a small delay on the /CE line with just a capacitor and a resistor.

I have ran into issues with certain games not liking faster sram. Final Fantasy III and Sweet Home are good examples of having this problem. It would be interesting to have you try to switch the SRAM between your boards as well. I found 120ns seems to work fine. I am also curious now, so will try t...
