Sure! I didn't mention it since the project was a bit of a novelty and I couldn't imagine anyone getting to much entertainment out of it. But if you want to, go right aheadA spammer who posted here earlier reminded me of this project. It looks good enough to go on my 2 meg multicart.

Thanks bucky, that seems like sound advice. The one cool thing about the older text that I have is that it has a section in the back that covers three part writing, and a lot of that can be applied to voicing chords for the NES. So my personal suggestion would be to pay closer attention to chord pro...

Kinda like this.Unless you're trying for fully algorithmic composition. You have a computer spit out a melody according to a small set of rules, and then you implement the "crossword puzzle" harmony rules on a computer.

I suppose, but I wanted to learn more about general tendencies and a set of general, practical guidelines. Four-part writing seems to be more like a learning how to solve musical crossword puzzles than a practical set of guidelines. You sit down with your puzzle, solve it according to a theorist's g...

Learning more about harmony
Hello everyone. I have two questions that are somewhat related to NES music, and I was looking for advice from any musicians that frequent the boards. Recently I wanted to improve my composition skills (for writing music for my game projects) by learning more about harmonizing melodies and maybe a l...

It always worked in all the emulators. If the problem was visible in an emulator, I'd fixed it long ago. It is also second time when none of emulators shows a problem that is present on hardware. I'll try to fix it when I find someone with PP to test my fixes. I'd be more then willing to help you g...

I just tried out the entries with my PowerPak, and I'm impressed. Thwaite: This one was really challenging. I only made it to the end of the second night. But I had alot of fun. I look forward to seeing where you take this project. FHBG: Very unique, though, I think something is wrong with the colli...

So someone is doing something similar to this , or at least part of the effort? I'm very glad to hear that if so. At least if the hardware is never reproduced, NES emulator authors would have something to test against. Maybe even one day computers will be powerful enough to run a complete simulation...

Questions about the future of the NES
Hello everyone. I wasn't quite sure where to post this, so I'll post it here. Ever since I got back into writing programs for the NES, I've had a few questions I wanted to ask people still involved with either developing or even just playing new home brewed games. When do you think we will reach a p...

Thank you everyone for the responses. It's always nice to get positive feedback. Do you have any further plans for this game, or do you consider it complete? I was hoping to call it complete, unless any bugs needed to be fixed or minor changes needed to be done. I have been working on a similar proj...

nes15 - Yet Another Puzzle Game
I haven't posted here or done any NES development in quite awhile, but last September I was bitten by the bug. After much studying, several exercises, and two months of work, I put together this: http://oi54.tinypic.com/6nwm10.jpg http://oi55.tinypic.com/2e2fscl.jpg It is an implementation of the Fi...
