Re: Second NES, same problem.

Nope! I cleaned them all before trying them out. Let them dry too.

Re: Second NES, same problem.

I think I might know what's going on. Every game works, but only after pushing down on them firmly. I think the ArcadeWorks board is just not getting a good enough purchase on the pins of the cartridge. I'm not sure how that happens but it seems to be the issue. How could I go about fixing that??

Re: Second NES, same problem.

Not on me but I could buy some and build a tester. Honestly I'm not much of a modder or really electrically inclined. I know some lingo but that's it. I'll get back to you but is there any advice you can give at all here without a logic probe?

Re: Second NES, same problem.

So Rockman 2 and Gradius are now consistently working in addition to SMB/Duck Hunt but nothing else still. It would really suck to have the ArcadeWorks board be the failure point considering it's supposed to solve problems not make more 😂. I have no logic probe unfortunately. I have a multimeter and...

Re: Second NES, same problem.

Oooookaaaayyyy... I just had the strangest experience in my life working on retro consoles. I put in my Rockman 2 Famicom cartridge attached to a converter, I turn on the console and without my input its like the start button was being pressed over and over I ended up in Air Man's stage with no prob...

Second NES, same problem.

Okay. So I posted here a while back about an odd issue I had with my NES I bought. Namely, that only the Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt multi-cart would work with it. I am using the Arcade Works 72-pin replacement board and have disabled the NES10 chip by pulling pin 4. Now I went and purchased a second...

Re: Newbie needing some help. Strange problems with NES installed with Flashing Light Win from ArcadeWorks

Okay I found something odd. I accidentally moved the EverDrive while the power was on and when I did the console shut off even though I hadn’t touched the power button. I’m not sure if that means anything though. I’m sorry I keep going through stuff but I really want to exhaust every possibility bef...

Re: Newbie needing some help. Strange problems with NES installed with Flashing Light Win from ArcadeWorks

image.jpg I really was hoping it wouldn’t be chips on the board that need replacing. I’ll have to send it somewhere that repairs retro consoles because I don’t have the wherewithal to do it myself, skills or equipment wise. No solder braid or desoldering irons here and I’ve never done that sort of ...

Re: Newbie needing some help. Strange problems with NES installed with Flashing Light Win from ArcadeWorks

Okay. I bought an EverDrive N8, put ROMS on it and tried it out on the CRT. Nothing. Black screen unless it’s Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt or very occasionally Gradius. Anything you guys can think of. Maybe I need to put the RF shield and top back on maybe that’s why it’s not playing because of RF int...

Re: Newbie needing some help. Strange problems with NES installed with Flashing Light Win from ArcadeWorks

The TV recognizes the nes as a valid signal because when I turn it off it says no signal. I’ll test it on my crt in the other room though just to make sure.

Re: Newbie needing some help. Strange problems with NES installed with Flashing Light Win from ArcadeWorks

I used the power supply off my Sega Master System. It does 9V @1.2A. I got Gradius to work once. Won’t do it again. SMB/Duck Hunt still working fine.

Re: Newbie needing some help. Strange problems with NES installed with Flashing Light Win from ArcadeWorks

I just had an idea. I don’t mean to spam but this could be it idk. The BLW model I have has a chip on it which cycles the region of the CIC chip on it each time you power the system on. Idk exactly what IC it is but do you think that could be causing my issues? That it’s looking for a pin 4 that no ...

These are photos of the screen with each of the three games plugged into my system. SMB/Duck Hunt is good, the NROM and CNROM games? Black screen. No idea why.

Re: Newbie needing some help. Strange problems with NES installed with Flashing Light Win from ArcadeWorks

Yeah I have a multimeter. I checked the voltage and amperage coming out and it’s matching with what the brick says which is 9V @ 350 milliamps
