Anyways, I can't really make just a couple of these consoles 'cause of setup and tooling costs. I'd cost me around $800 to $1500 to get the board stuffers "set up" to make the boards... they have to program their machines to place all the surface mount components. Also, there is the cost ...

And on a different note, is there any way to mod an NES so that it has a stationary cart slot that's more reliable? I've mentioned this in other forums, and it has worked like a dream for me for years. If you buy a 72 pin connector, attach the side that the cart normally goes in to the motherboard ...

chortle. Yah, sorry about that. I got discouraged when I figured it'd cost more money than people would be willing to pay... for more than like 5 or 10 units (which wasn't cost-effective to make, unfortunately). Kev, does this mean you have quit this project? I know I was willing to pay quite a bit...

I think that the "emulation" feature should be called "NES on NES emulation", as it brings to mind "girl on girl action". Little things like that might help marketing Shit, I'll buy two. Oh, wait NESS was a male kid in earthbound. Jag, you sick bastard. NSF carts...

Stereo audio output for existing games would be inaccurate. How would new games be programmed to use this? Trying to remember how the stereo mod worked on the NES, but I believe some of the 5 sound channels are diverted to the left side and some of the 5 are diverted to the right side. I forget whi...

Yup, I mean integrated into the hardware as a ROM. WOW! Great move on Tomy's part...sure will save a lot of time, effort, disk wear and frustration, heh heh. Cant wait to see the PC side software too. BTW, the GD6+ is a rival unit by Venus. Oh yeah, forgot about that. AKA the TURBO Game Doctor. The...

I can't remember if Copy Master can read a disk (store it) then write it or if it has to copy a disk in 1 operation. Hmm, you mean you don't remember if Copy Master reads both sides (one then the other), and then writes both sides (one then the other)? Or if it goes like this: read side 1, write si...

You know, Kyuusaku? You are absolutely right about the invisible files issue...damn, my memory completely failed me I realize as I went over Brad's original emails. Man, how could I mess up a thing like that in my head...oh well. Memory is so strange...sometimes it's like it makes things up without ...

Sonic 3D blast was actually a Famicom pirate original? Wow...that's news to me. That reminds me...I heard there were two versions of Wai Xing Zahn Shi, the Phantasy Star IV pirate original. Kev, was it you that dumped the newer version of the rom I heard about? And does anyone know what the differen...

Are you sure it's due to bad CRCs? I remember hearing about how it couldn't properly detect data past a certain point which some games may fuss about. Well, I'm pretty sure, yeah. I remember speaking to Brad about this, and I believe that is what he explained to me. I think I remember reading about...

It's been done a few times (SMB2j pirate comes to mind), but often involves hacks or even lossy methods. Some FDS routines don't really work without FDS hardware (the FDS sound comes to mind for games that use it, but I'm sure there's other routines that are FDS specific).

Do you mean protection regarding track length or protection regarding data integrity? -K Well, I guess I'm not sure what you mean by your question. However, I was mainly referring to dumped disks giving error messages on screen due to them not having been made by an "official" NOJ approve...

One problem I found with dumping games with Brad's FDSloadr is that some games give an error when replayed after a dump due to bad CRCs. I understand other dumping methods (Pasofami, I-Line, maybe others...if anyone knows, please elaborate) were able to code around this. I guess Brad wasn't really s...
