You know, I read the thread on this, and I read the synopsis by the OP, but I still have no friggin clue what this device actually is.

bunnyboy rocks, I hope he is at least breaking even off of all of the hard work. Now, can we get a USB FDS Loader? :) Music to my ears, Jagasian, music to my ears. The problem with FDS loader is that it's SUPER timing sensitive, from what Kyuusaku tells me. A USB solution would never work, as far a...

Laptops do often work, but often don't too. The problem between laptops and desktops lies with the cheaper parallel port controller chips used in Laptops. So you are saying you are uploading an image from the PC to the FDS RAM adapter and you get an error? I'venever seen that. Either it loads all th...

It does not work at all. Those devices are definitely just meant for printers and are software driven.

It writes to standard .fds format, not MGD or anything.

Well, I definitely want to play MSX games, no doubt. Just haven't gotten around to it. I just need to find an MSX guru that can work his way around the system to tell me how to work the quickdisk drive and access it and such. I bookmarked every page of every Backup Technique issue that mentioned any...

I haven't gotten my copynes to work on ANY computer, except Madman's when I sent it to him to test. Worked perfectly for him. I guess parallel ports just hate me, because I tried a buttload of machines. I found an old piece of shit P100 or something in my house, so I'll try that out sometime.

I used a Multi Game Doctor which with a special cable can dumps games into a raw binary format. Unfortunately it doesn't dump past the last file and the checksums are blanked out so the FDS game backups made with it aren't good dumps. Using an actual QD drive is crazy! Nobody in their right mind to...

It probably uses a PAL color decoder board, such that the RGB signal faithfully reproduces PAL artifacts. I think the level-following circuit that I have suggested before that tries to infer the hue and brightness of each pixel would have been too expensive to implement. Ok, good. I guess I wasn't ...

Alex, I'm almost certain that there was a thread here once that a poster examined a FR NES and saw that it was not RGB at all...just composite running through an SCART connector. I do not believe the FR NES is RGB at all. Can't find the thread, though. :-( -Rob The french NES is indeed RGB out on t...

Excuse my ignorance, but I thought the FR NES only took a composite signal and ran it through a scart connector, so while the picture appears via a scart conncetor, it is actually just a crappy composite signal. Is there no simple adapter?

I say the easiest solution is to buy another NES. That's a LOT of work to fix there.
