but a heck of a lot less than the $20,000 mark cited above. ;) I only got that from a talk with one of the guys over at playmessiah (he said that was about the cost to get a single mold made even in China). Maybe he meant all the molds for the whole unit (this was most likely about the controller s...

The 2 feasible ways to do this that I know of would be resin molding or vacuum forming. You could do injection molding, but that'd cost $20,000+, so I doubt you'd want to. IIRC, resin molding can make a good case with screw posts and everything, but the case tends to come out fragile (if you drop it...

Using the NES would let others use your design easier, but I'd like to see (or do it myself eventually when I have time :P) one based around the cpu only (like the SID synths) so you could get a bit better quality from the signal.

For me the screen is always blank (white) while the copynes is connected to the pc (whether the software is running or not), so I assume it's normal.
You should turn the NES on before using the software I think (at least for copynesw)

oh yeah, and on another note, any possibilty to use copynes to make a NSF out of the data coming from my midines? I figure I'd need to make a passive plugin that records all data coming out of the cart. It'd be neat to be able to pre-program loop synth carts.

CopynesW

I tried dumping a few carts (SMB and Megaman 4) and noticed that unless I powered off/on the copynes after I booted copynesw I either wouldn't get a dump at all or I'd get a corrupt dump. Not sure why this is, maybe clearing some of the copynes data. Oh yeah, and playing the cart would work fine bef...

midines

I got one of these a bit ago, but opened it up tonight to replace the midi cable with a shorter female one. I noticed that only the 2 data lines were wired to the pcb, not ground (thought not shielding at first, then noticed it's an unshielded cable :P) Anyways, I see the PCB is a Squeedo. Looks lik...
