A button combo (like select+start+a+b) to trigger a reset would be nice (although I was planning on building one using hardware :P)

I still have doubts that any people would be out to copy it due to part costs and final pricing

Works good for me. I tried 470 Ohm resistors, but that gave me a red screen, so I used 120 Ohm ones.

Did the hardware fix, haven't had any sprite issues since, but haven't been able to do a wide test.
Really should get a set of roms for a more standardized cross nes/user testing.

I think we should all use a set of roms that use different mappers/etc to do base tests with just them on any NESes we have, then at least we'd have a better compatibility/bug list for them :P

You could make a custom mapper for it by editing the header and then modifying the mmc3 mapper file if you really wanted to with the Powerpak's setup I suppose

Nestopia and Nintendulator are great, Nintendulator is too slow for me to use for anything other than testing/etc though.

Wouldn't be too hard to make a converter to the new proposed format, but the hard part would be getting people to agree on one (I still think that the current nes 2.0 is good enough). Here's a quick untested example script. It doesn't do anything to the header data though, and I have no clue if the ...

Just did a quick read through, and some of the ideas talked over there seem a bit ridiculous to me. If they really wanted a *proper* format, they could put a header, prg, and chr in a zip with the extension znes or something. This could be used for the double method of using a database based on the ...

I doubt this would happen due to the cost. Maybe single mapper variants, but no large multimapper devices.
