I have heard that used Eproms (that were used then erased and then re programed) can become faulty because the old program can grow back on the chip. Another person said that this can be fixed by erasing the eprom twice. One thing that I would like to know is how do you make a 27c512 eprom look like...

as far as having 2 battery's in parallel, if one battery is failing it might draw more current. Having 2 rechargeable battery's that do not have the same charge time could have an over charging effect on the faster charging battery. lossing bits as you get older

As an Electronic technician I would agree. If your EPROM dies after 25 yr's of service then it has lived a full life.
I have also heard that a flash from a camera will erase an un-covered EPROM.
