You can also map the jump and the bionic arm to the same button, which means that the player will have to jump first before using the bionic arm. That's what Earthworm Jim 2 did with Jim's Snott Swing, which is like the bionic arm. Personally, I'd think that'd be faster than toggling between the gun...

Looks like a nice start. :) However, I think the main character looks a bit too cartoony for what I assume to be a survival horror game, especially if you compare it to the zombie in the title screen. A pen on his shirt appears when he calls his cell phone, but it's not there in his other poses. The...

Sounds really nice so far, as expected. :D But for those S3M2NSF bugs, do you know how to edit your NSFs to fix them? You mention them a lot, but have you been able to directly fix any in the NSFs themselves?

Actually, the mentions a [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_Clay_Shooting_System]Laser Clay Shooting System, which mentions that the home version of this was called Duck Hunt, the toy here in question.

I hope your kid's getting better, but thank you for taking the pictures anyway; they're good enough for me. :) I don't think your TV, at default settings, doesn't do any yellow boost at all; any over-yellowishness is probably something that's different between individual TV sets, so I guess it proba...

Banshaku, have you been able to take the pictures yet? If for some reason you're not able to, then maybe you could just tell what the model number of your TV is, and that could be looked up to see if it does any yellow boost or oversaturation.

Actually, at least 2 other people had also remade part of the MM9 soundtrack into NSFs. In this forum, Sivak made a thread about his own MM9-to-NES remixes. He posted a bunch of Youtube videos of his remixes; you can see them here . A guy named Acmlm also made an NES homebrew demo of his remix of 4 ...

I just need to know a list of games that the issue is more obvious. Any game that starts out with title screens or first areas that use yellowish colors (of hues $7 and $8 especially, but $6 and $9 are also affected) or bright skin tones are good test games. Here's a small list of such, by their Ja...

I did PM _Zaphod_ if he had any of those TVs, and he said he didn't. Yeah, I could see how oversaturation could produce an illusion of this yellow boost...could it be that Japanese TVs are simply set to be more saturated than American TVs? I personally think that might be the case, because yellow do...

Given that no one has ever named a television model that actually works this way, I still think the yellow boost business is a dud. So does that mean that yellow boost is just a myth after all? According to _Zaphod_, on certain Japanese TVs, yellow colors look like they are indeed boosted; he cited...

Looks really awesome, but in the latest version of Nintendulator (0.965), the NTSC version shakes horizontally one time booting up for certain resets, and boots up perfectly fine in other resets. In the latest version of Nestopia (1.40) however, the NTSC version shakes all the time, regardless of so...

Compare the RGB NES palette with the yellow boosted palette, and you will find they are VERY similar. this is evidence that the RGB NES PPUs were designed to replicate that amount of yellow boost Maybe some of the yellow boosted hues (5-A) may look similar in hue, but the luminances look very warpe...

Apparently, Sivak's direct link to the file doesn't work, but you can click on the attachment download in the forum post. They link to the same URL but the attachment link will work.

Sorry for double posting, but I tested my NES on my LCD TV; it looked wrong at 75% brightness, but after resetting to factory settings (25% brightness), it looks perfect. So I don't think the LCD TV has a gamma problem. After reading this , it appears that all of my monitors have 2.2 gamma; they jus...

Considering the background is completely empty and black at the area of those platforms, I think it could be done on the NES with crafty CHR-RAM and nametable writes, since some tiles repeat in the platforms.
