http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:PAL-NTSC-SECAM.svg That should settle the NTSC/PAL problem. Anyways, if you're going to be building NES carts (as opposed to Famicom carts or emulator ROM's), keep in mind that you'll need to get your hands on 10NES chips so the lockout chip doesn't stop you in you...

Let me guess, Nigeria or China! :P

Anywho, one important question is will these games be played on real hardware? If so will it be cheap NOAC hardware? If so, things'd have to be more precise than...say...on an emulator.

I'm not familiar with NESASM syntax, but shouldn't everything be somewhere along the lines of something like ".defchr %01111110 | %10000001 (etc until 16 bytes for 1 tile)"?

Music's the same to my knowledge, with added tracks for legendary pokemon. Thanks for the linkage!

EDIT: Crap I spent like 2-3 hours listening to this GBS! It's too good!

Yes, I know, this is the NSF thread, but everyone else was doing it so I thought what the hell.

Anyone got Pokemon Gold/Silver? I've been looking everywhere for a GBS of it...

Hell, I just assemble both ROMS as *.bin files & include them in another ASM file right after the header.

To my knowledge they're read from $FFFA-FFFF each time. I'm not an expert on 6502/2A0X though...

Wait, so you've put the text in on the "Thank you Mario" scene? Are you sure she'll be able to make it that far? Are you sure she'll even WANT to play it that far?

Wow...what a kick-ass way to propose! :P

Have you considered purchasing a PowerPak? I can understand if you'd want EEPROMs for durability.

Oh & also, did you do it in a Hex editor, or did you do what every uber-novice ROM hacker does & swap the text tiles, raping all other text?
