Realm of Existence is a series i have been working on since 1989. Puzzlum : Realm of Existence I killed itself SMITH style, taking out the entire dev system after 2 weeks (1996) unreleased Realm of Existence II was near complete for a single level when it ran out of string space. (released only to L...

CompactFlash is electrically the same as (parallel) ATA with a different pin-out. For SD, you might want to ask on gbadev.org; some people there have been writing device drivers for various SD-to-GBA and SD-to-DS adapters. BTW i can blow in my systems as much as I want. It's a dry 122F heat in Ariz...

Sure some of the early 6502-based business PC's had compilers, but the NES doesn't have any memory close to near what they had! Hell, Microsoft's first BASIC Interpreter for the Altair 8800 required at least twice the amount of RAM the will NES have had But did they have EPROMs back then? Microsoft...

- Plase stop to do annoying consecutive posts. i use a different post for each person, take my word its easier on me 100 fold to do it this way. - High level programming is just TOO ineficient when it comes to ROM and RAM memory to be suitable for the NES. The NES has 2 KB RAM, and 32 KB ROM (more ...

I'm not criticizing your High-level programming abilities, I'm just saying that this is a completely different realm of knowledge here. Sure some of the early 6502-based business PC's had compilers, but the NES doesn't have any memory close to near what they had! Hell, Microsoft's first BASIC Inter...

NO HIGH-LEVEL PROGRAMMING FOR THE NES IS FEASIBLE! There exist C compilers for the 6502 for Commodore Pet 4016 model 'N'. The 4016 comes standard with 16 kilobytes of RAM. Only 12 of which is maximally allotted to machine code programs. (PET Basic 4.0 normally allots only 4 kilobytes of variable sp...

A superb example of why your SNES>NES idea wouldn't work right is the NES port of Super Mario World. The graphics, gameplay, music, overworld map, and pretty much everything else are all sub-par compared to SNES version. This port is also considered a rather phenomenal effort, and with good reason....

yes like Dwedit said with Megaman vs Metroid Shockwave/Flash Game (Warning if NewGrounds.com still has porno ads it may be NSFW) except have the game engine from either Arcana of Eye of the Beholder mix with the Mystic Quest engine in order to seamlessly switch between the two engines, as a single g...

It doesn't matter, the chart is probably too high-level for anything useful to teach to n00bs here. Try finding something w/ just the 6502 instruction set & more along the lines of something like this: 10 01 11 the chart is simple venn diagrams numbered by their binary truth table with ascii-ba...

Nintendo's official ROM format is straight binary files in <=8M parts (don't remember the naming) given the extension .SFC, but when you submit the ROM to Nintendo, they know which board type you're using. Curious, can you cite this info? I'd be very interested in reading whatever documentation suc...

Wow, I guess that explains the numerous packages of fresh samples direct from the manufacturer I have. they didn't start giving out free samples until 1992 or 1993. before they they only gave out free samples to established hardware developers or as promotions. do you even know what an interrupt is...
