Yeah you can barely make out NES pixels on YouTube from a video i exported at 856x480

I started Nesdevving with no prior programing experience four months ago. I lurked the site, got all the info i could and set out with lofty goals which i am nowhere near accomplishing. But i amassed a large collection of .NES files that were all glitchy and some that weren't so i decided to compile...

it's been a topic of heated contention in all gaming circles i've come in contact[heh, pun] with...why do some swear by it and others claim it destroys the cart? personally i've developped a ritual over the years of dry blowing into the cartridge, then breathing hot air along the top edge of the boa...

can desoldering of the IC be done with braid? i guess the chip would suffer in the desoldering process, otherwise i wouldn't mind just pulling the chips out of one of my existing games and popping it back into the socket when i wanted to play it = ) the socket wouldn't cause clearance problems with ...

it's just what i need. thanks. now i know not to crack open a copy of Ms. Pac Man or Donkey Kong Jr. Math, if i were lucky enough to be dealt one.

how do i know if a FlashROM chip is compatible with the NROMs? does it have some similar insignia, besides pin count?

i find it a convenient 32 byte string for code testing purposes (with a space on either side)

better yet is there ANYWHERE i can find a close-to-comprehensive list of games with their respective mappers, or at least a list of mapper 0 games?

never mind. i guess it's pretty simple. it's just that the pertinent information is all over the place and not so clear, i suppose i'd start by disecting a mapper 0 game and replacing the ICs with sockets...

so when i compile my asm source code using NESASM, there's no way to crank the NES file out with metadata already attatched to it?

i mean Windows file properties
like where it says "date modified" , "author", "track number", etc.
i believe it might be called "metadata"

it would greatly assist in sorting ROMs that i wrote from all the other ROMs in the same folder

i've been using batch files with NESASM to make things easier for me. what would be really great is if i knew of a command which would enable me to create a file with the "Author" detail in it's properties already set to something. does such a command exist?
