breeding nes toploader and a/v famicom?

By now, I'm sure most of you are familiar with the youtube video of the alleged unmodded NES-2 with A/V out and the controversy surrounding it. Whether you believe it's real or it's a cobbled together nes and famicom is outside the scope of this thread. The idea of combining the two systems intrigue...

The reason I ask is because I'd love a NTSC copy of Mr. Gimmick! and the proto is super rare. I couldn't find a dump of it. I would just grab the fc version, but 3 lives is beyond rough for Gimmick.

modding PAL cart to NTSC

I thought I saw somewhere a long time ago that you can take a PAL nes cart and mod it somehow so that it runs at NTSC speed on an NTSC NES. Is this possible or was it some kind of wonderful dream?

So, since most of the games on the NES are already dumped and available on the internet, who dumped them and how? CopyNES hasn't been around too long, so how were they dumped?

Point taken. Forget UNIF.

Anyone know of reliable stand-alone dumpers? Or is there a good reason to have one combined with a NES?

Dumpers besides CopyNES

Besides CopyNES, what other NTSC NES rom dumpers are out there? Also, what's the advantage to CopyNES being integrated to an NES? I've seen other dumpers like the Chameleon-NES and ChameleonUSB that are stand alone. What dumpers does GoodNES support? I'd like to dump some of my carts in UNIF format.

Don't the middle pins on the NES cart connector correspond to the expansion port? Shouldn't there be an easy way to just mod the famicom connector so that the proper pin connects to the proper lead on the cart? Or is that what Bregalad was describing?

I don't know if I'm willing to go that far for a couple of extra channels of audio. As long as the game plays the same, that's good enough for me.

famicom castlevania 3 on NES

Has anyone ever tried playing the famicom version of Castlevania 3 on a NES using a converter/adapter? Does it work? I'd guess it would work sans special audio. The reason I ask is because I want to try playing Joy Mecha Fight on my NES, but I don't want to spend the money until I know it works. I j...

New 72-pin connector design

I have an idea for a design for a 72-pin connector similar to those you can find on eBay and Nintendo Repair Shop amongst other places, but it would improve reliability and can be installed in any model one gray toaster style NES. However, I don't have connections to anyone who can manufacture or pr...
