Aaah much simpler.

Thank you Memblers. The ROM seems to work without the footer. I'll give it a try and run it on real hardware :)

Thank you again everyone for your input.

Alright guys this is slightly embarassing and I feel incompetent but I cannot seem to make the -j command work in tniNES. I tried a dozen different way to rejoin the files back into a .NES file and it doesn't work. =/ Anyone have any experience with the command? I have all 4 files in the same folder...

Splitting a ROM and getting a Footer file?

Hi everyone, I am trying to make a reproduction of the hack Bubble Bobble Madness for the game Bubble Bobble on the NES. I splitted the file using TniNES and I got 4 files: Header, CHR, PRG and a Footer (ext: .ftr). The PRG is 128 Ko., the CHR is 32 Ko. and the footer is 32 Ko. I've never seen a foo...

Hey Banshaku, Thank you for the kind words. I made a repro of Sweet home the next day and I was able to close the case this time :D. I can close it just fine when I have only one layer of wire on top of my EPROM. It's when I have wires crossing each others on top of my EPROM that it gets too big to ...

Hey guys

Hello everyone! I finally received my new EPROM programmer (a shiny GQ-4X) so I'm getting back at my first repro. After some issues I think I finally did program the PRG EPROM correctly (I think so at least :)). I used tniNES to split my rom, but the result are two files of type .prg and .chr. Is it...

If I understood everything correctly, in the present case of Bubble Bobble 2 being only 128Ko CHR and 128Ko PRG, my EPROM being 512Ko in size and my TLROM board supporting up to 256Ko CHR and 512 Ko PRG. I could have done my rewiring by using the diagram of 128Ko, 256Ko or 512Ko for my PRG and 128Ko...

hmm

Banshaku, that wiki link is invaluable, thank you! Ok now I would like to try to clarify a point: My donor board is TNMT2: 256Ko PRG, 256Ko CHR My game to be reproduced is Bubble Bobble Part2: 128Ko PRG, 128Ko CHR. My EPROM is an AM27c040: 512Ko. When picking the right diagram to do the rewire (let'...

VPP should be connected to VCC when not programming.
Hmm.. so should I bend pin 01 (VPP) and pin 32 (VCC) and wire them together, leaving hole 01 and hole 32 empty?

nice!

Hi banshaku, Thank you for your input. The Vpp according to the datasheet of the AM27c040 is: Vpp : Program Voltage Input. No real idea where to reroute this one either. Thank you for the PRG chip diagram. Is it always the same diagram for all PRG chip accross every type of NES carts? Where did you ...

So the difference would only be that in some version of SMB2 you have all the 72 pins, and in the other you have some pins missing? I checked my copy, it has all the pins, but 5 of them aren’t connected to anything. Is that how you spot the difference between the two version, by checking if it has a...
