Re: Is SA-1 3.3v tolerant?
Well the answer is no, although you can always use voltage translation for the entire ROM chip. If you have basic soldering skills then I can help you get the proper ROM for an SA1 donor

Re: IC orders
4 months sure seems a little rough, although I wonder what the real reputation of that seller is, perhaps they used some cheap ass non trackable shipping method even though they got paid for express. Anything I order actually gets to me in around a month, maybe 1 and a half month from China/Hong Kon...

Re: NES controller tact switches mod
That is a nice try. So how about the D-pad?? This is the thing that always requires an enormous amount of precision to work correctly and also the diagonal directions in NES games just have to be perfect

Re: Zanac FDS port cart- weird issues
Thanks, I wasn't even aware of this list and I never knew there exists any sort of database for unofficial FDS port carts. So does this mean there isn't any obvious solution on how to "repair" this cart?? Also, is there any other list that points out all known FDS port carts that have issu...

Zanac FDS port cart- weird issues
Hi there, I got my hands on a weird cart that is an unofficial Zanac port from FDS version that was put on a real cart. The symptoms are rather unusual: 1.When you defeat any boss, the floor just gets garbled, looks like it exploded (this doesn't happen in the original game though as I checked it) 2...

Re: How to make multicartes a particular program to use or a
Hey, is the OP asking about SNES or NES multicarts?? It's very hard to answer both at the same time. Either way I believe NES has been answered well enough already, so I can say SNES idea is essentially the same. One of the easiest ways to do a multicart is by switching it by reset and you can do th...

Re: Multicarts not working on Famicom Classic
If you or anyone else is interested in buying or trading this unit then you are free to go. The console was meant to be given away and it has been AV modded, as well as reduced jailbars

Re: Multicarts not working on Famicom Classic
The part number is RP2A03, so yes it is letterless. Does it mean that the CPU is probably "100% working" but it is incompatible?? If I can't play any multicarts then the CPU might as well just be defective for me...

Re: Multicarts not working on Famicom Classic
OK, it looks like I've found solution to my own problem (probably)- it looks like the CPU is probably defective . I have no idea whether these older CPUs are worse or my unit was just broken. I did a test where I swapped CPUs between this faulty Famicom Classic and working Famicom AV. Once I tested ...

Re: Multicarts not working on Famicom Classic
Someone else had a problem with multicarts on HVC-CPU-05 revision . The earliest boards, especially from the square button era , may have different electrical characteristics that cause M2-interruption reset detectors to perform less reliably. Wow this looks like my problem actually. Do you have an...

Re: Multicarts not working on Famicom Classic
On the side note, I heard that there are some Famicom motherboard revisions with minor changes, my Famicom is HVC-CPU-05 that causes problems with multicarts. Anyone have any idea how to fix it if possible??

Re: Multicarts not working on Famicom Classic
OK bigger but what value?? The original cap is 0.47uF if that's the correct cap I'm looking for but I don't think it's the issue here. I just soldered 2x 0.47uF = 0.94uF in place and still no luck, the same things happen...

Multicarts not working on Famicom Classic
Hi there, I struggle with a problem I can't solve by now. I have a Famicom Classic console (the first version, not classic mini) that functions rather strange- all normal carts work just fine and the games work just as normal and you can play through them but all multicarts I have simply refuse to w...
