Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer
To anyone who struggles with Kazzo cart's programming problems- please keep in mind that due to programming sequence, some carts can be programmed ONLY by using AM29F040B . Even though some other chips are supported like W29C020, W49F002U, I personally don't recommend any of them. It most probably h...

MAX795 - MAD-1 alternative
Hi there, I want to use a MAX795 chip on my new SNES cartridge board that uses new chips. Although the game works 100% OK on my cart, it crashes completely at the time when the console wants to read from SRAM. I used MAX795 chip for this purpose and I suspect this is the problem. I checked several S...

Re: Reset cart using custom PIC12F629
OK, I've managed to solve it myself!! I still used the same program for SNES and the same chip, although I connected the input pin with 10K pull-down resistor to GND. Here's how I did it: M2 CON.---+---PIC PIN #04 | 10K | GND With that resistor, everything seems to be working perfectly fine as I exp...

Re: Reset cart using custom PIC12F629
Ah OK, so the M2 pin actually goes to high impedance while the reset button is pressed. Right I can still change the PIC program, I did this right now just for testing. So what are my best options to switch the game while reset is held for some period of time, let's just say 1 second?? Should I use ...

Re: Reset cart using custom PIC12F629
Not really, it still doesn't explain it in full detail and it only explains how to clear the mapper. My case is somewhat different

Reset cart using custom PIC12F629
Hi there, I want to do a custom MMC1 4 in 1 cart that switches games when you hold reset for ~2 seconds. It essentially counts upwards and switches addresses A17 & A18 of PRG & CHR. I used the same exact chip with the same exact program on SNES carts and they work perfectly fine but of cours...

Re: Famiclone cartridge safe to use?
If there are transceivers on the back (or inside the glob top) then it should work fine. Otherwise it might get broken or eventually fried in very rare cases (if that will work at all)

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer
Damn it, the cart would need a total reconstruction as it almost isn't an UNROM board anymore, I think it needs a new redesigned board for this purpose... Is there any easier solution for that while it only handles up to 256KB PRG??

Mini project - displaying button presses from NES
Hi there, I'm working on a small project that seems easy but gets kinda tricky- I conected 3 wires to my NES (Famicom AV to be exact) that go from 3 pins of gamepad 1: clock + latch + data. As we all know, NES uses serial data transmission to communicate with controllers and controllers themselves c...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer
So, can you provide me any instructions kinda for dummies explaining how to build that cart?? Also, I didn't mention my cart is a Famicom one so I'm afraid I can't use any expansion pins on that

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer
Did anyone have any luck building a functional UNROM cart for Kazzo?? I've followed this tutorial: https://osdn.net/projects/unagi/wiki/flash_74161_en And here's the thing- I think this is kind of wrong since the console doesn't read the cartridge at all but it reads correctly if I connect /WE #31 p...

Re: Problems with using 5V->3.3V translator in SA1 cart
I tried measuring the voltage on another GTL chip and the results are a little better now but still not as it supposed to be I think. When I connect an input line to GND then the corresponding output gives something around 0.02V which is OK but when I connect the input to 5V then the output gives 2V...

Re: Problems with using 5V->3.3V translator in SA1 cart
I measured the resistance of the input and output (source-drain of one of the tested channels) and it displayed 99.0 value while I switched the ohmmeter to "200k" (the chip was off during the measuring). I don't remember how to calculate it though Should I try a different GTL2000 and measu...

Problems with using 5V->3.3V translator in SA1 cart
Hi there, here I have the following problem- I want to use a M29W640 flash memory (64MBit 16bit wide memory) in an SA1 cart. To achieve that, I used a GTL2000 and designed a small adapter board for that. Unfortunately it doesn't work... I tried to check the connections and everything seemed fine. I ...
