Famicom Disk System is noisy (and not working)
Hi, I just bought a white label Famicom Disk System that was not working from the purchase and as always, it needed the belt replacement of course. After I replaced the belt, unfortunately it doesn't read any disk. All it does is try to read the disk but it loops forever and can't do anything, the s...

FOR SALE: Star Fox 2 ROM and CIC chips
I receive many private questions regarding selling Star Fox 2 ROM and CIC chips separately, so I want to officially claim that yes I can sell these separately so anyone having both Stunt Race FX/Wild Trax cart and basic/intermediate soldering skills can build their own Star Fox 2 cart. http://i.imgu...

Re: Super FX chip recreation
So you say that it would be even easier to use a straightforward powerful DSP chip and it will do all the job?? 10$ for the chip is still relatively low in this case in my opinion. Unfortunately I don't have any experience with them ;) . But either way, if it appears to be that easy, I suggest that ...

Super FX chip recreation
I've always wondered- will it be hard to recreate the entire Super FX chip and produce a new working cartridge using a Super FX chip?? I suppose the world IS able to do it now, there are many reprogrammable processors, oscillators etc. that are fast, can emulate everything and can do many things. Of...

Re: Sega CD region free BIOS cartridge design
I don't want to modify any console's hardware, so disabling internal Sega CD BIOS is out of question. The only way I want to do it is through cartridge slot then Seems like you know what you're talking about, so do you know what exactly happens while Sega CD wants to read internal BIOS, how !CARTIN ...

Re: Sega CD region free BIOS cartridge design
There is already a thing that you can buy: http://products.genny4ever.net/megacart_v1x.html Well first of all, I'm kind of cheap and don't want to spend 70$ on something that I am able to do myself anyway. As you mentioned before, even Everdrives can achieve this so this is possible to do through ca...

Sega CD region free BIOS cartridge design
I can't find any information about it on the internet. I want to play Japanese and European games on my USA Sega CD model 2. I know it can be achieved by flashing region free BIOS file into cartridge and inserting it into Genesis cartridge slot. As far as I know burning an EPROM into regular cartrid...

Re: 230V->110V voltage transformer question
YEAH!! Finally the one who gave me the most definite answer!! :D Of course I was wrong describing these voltages because I only looked at output voltages (the voltages and amps that consoles drain) but sure I was totally mistaken because I was supposed to look at input voltages, the numbers that dra...

Re: 230V->110V voltage transformer question
But you surely don't use all of them at once, do you? When the NES is switched on, the SNES and the Genesis are usually off. So, it shouldn't matter how many of them are plugged in as long as you only use two devices at once. As far as I know, having a console plugged in, but switched off is the sa...

Re: 230V->110V voltage transformer question
Keep in mind I have around 10 or more consoles plugged in the same time and you should additionally count additional devices like Famicom FDS, Sega CD and 32x and who knows, sometimes I buy any other electronics from USA so I want to be prepared for that. In short, I use a lot of electronic devices

Re: 230V->110V voltage transformer question
In this case, the question of how many you can plug in isn't even an issue since it only accepts once device anyway. Hah that sentence kind of made me laugh. Never heard of surge protectors?? Either way, these look kind of solid but the power 150W is kind of too low for my purposes. I'd expect some...

Re: 230V->110V voltage transformer question
This means that the maximum current delivered in the pseudo-110V outlet is 1.6A. As for how many, normally you can just try and there should be a security that turn the transformer off if there is an overload. If there is not such a thing, then the transformer will simply overheat and the wires wil...

230V->110V voltage transformer question
Hello, I bought voltage transformer a few years ago for using my NTSC game systems from USA and Japan to play them here in Europe (Poland to be exact). This means the transformer plugs into 230V European socket and accepts 110V devices, 230V->110V. Here are the specs (I'm sorry if I butchered any of...

Re: Star Fox 2
Seriously, go edit that article on Wikipedia if you're more of an expert on it. Hahahah that is so true. This would be VERY HARD to convince people that the fact they were believing in for about 10-15 years or so is actually wrong. This fact is like God, GSU-1 runs in 10,5Mhz, GSU-2 runs in 21Mhz, ...

Re: 128mbit game possible?
I barely understand what you said about mirroring but thanks for your interested in my tpoic anyway heheh Basically I'm so desperate to do this that I even built 12MB dev-cart today. Basically it is designed for 8MB memory (exHIROM) + 4MB memory configured as LOROM. All memories have been connected ...
