I hope you can forgive me for bumping an old thread. I found a music track: jilost_-_belmonts_revenge_praying_hands.nsf Does anybody know if there is another game that uses this track? I have never played Belmont's Revenge, but I definitely recognize it. If somebody can help, I really appreciate it!...

It's in both versions. The US version is harder.

Also, in case people here aren't already aware, there are some MMC5-style homebrew NSFs out there that sound pretty nice.

There is so much more to color than most people are aware of.

Yeah there are just tons of cellular automata documents and programs out there. There's this one called Visions of Chaos that has fractals and many other things in both 2D and 3D.

This is a really cool idea. Game of Life has been making the rounds on the internet lately. I wonder why? It's kind of a big thing. Personally, I am interested in the three dimensional varieties.

Also I'm assuming this version is based on the original Famicom release and not the Graidus II AC rom hack that greatly improves it? To be honest that's the version I'd like to see. If you'd like I can email you a fully patched rom to take a look at if you are unaware of what I'm talking about. Peo...

You're right. I thought Super Metroid had a lot of large multi-axis scrolling rooms, but after consulting a map I can see that there are fewer of them then I had remembered. But still. The game does have its own ways of addressing the issues raised in this thread. And anybody interested in exploring...

Super Metroid has great scrolling. How many people have even noticed the scrolling in that game? If people aren't noticing it, then it must be working well.

Comprehension is compression: taking data and finding the rules that underlie it. That's an interesting way of putting it. I had to stop and ponder that for awhile. I guess it is. I suppose it's a little like how a compiler can parse high level code and make it into machine code. Maybe many people ...

Well, I just had to watch the youtube of it after reading this thread. I am not under the influence of any chemicals, but I thought this was kind of cool.

I guess the mind control really works. You just need to believe...

Also, lol at "reading compression".

Also, I don't find it "comfortable" to scroll too fast, as you can't see the level that is coming at you. Hey, can anybody think of an example of a game that adjusts the screen so that you can see farther ahead when scrolling? I know that there are some out there, but I can't think of wha...
