Re: English Esper Dream 2 Famicom Cart?
I built one, one of the easiest repros evar. Desolder, burn, solder. I saw your thread about making an English repro. Pretty sweet. Ah, finally someone who eventually state the truth and doesn't fake it that it's extremely hard to make a repro (and worth a lot of money). I ended up not getting the ...

Re: Super 8 Compatibility List
Which pin from the 72 pin connector to the 60 pin connector would need to be connected for this to theoretically work? I don't quite understand the differences between the pinouts and which pins carry the expansion audio. It might be something worth looking at if there isn't wiring already there for...

English Esper Dream 2 Famicom Cart?
I saw an English Esper Dream 2 cart the other day online and was considering purchasing the game if it is indeed English. Since it uses the Konami VRC6 mapper, I'm guessing more work is required to make the cart than a game with a more common mapper. I realize that there are other threads about maki...

Re: Super 8 Compatibility List
I can confirm that both Rad Racer and Rad Racer II (4-screen mirroring) work. I had to give my Rad Racer a new shell due to the fact the guy I got it from on eBay didn't open the cart properly to clean the cart edges and ended up breaking the plastic supports inside that keep the PCB from moving aro...

Rockman 6-in-1
I managed to find this cart on eBay for $75 which is a nice price for its rarity: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rockman-Megaman-16-Ultimate-Collection-Set-Famicom-NES-ULTRA-RARE-/261196757074 I've been wanting to add Rockman/Megaman to my collection for a while so this will be a good addition. Does anyone...

Re: Super 8 Compatibility List
I'll look at getting those games soon. I'm currently bidding on Rad Racer and Rad Racer II on eBay. The Famicom games may take quite a while to receive if they are imported directly from Japan. Sometimes I can find US sellers, but only on more common games.

Re: Super Mario Bros / Duck Hunt PCB Images
I'm not worried about the cart. I was just curious about whether it was common.

Super Mario Bros / Duck Hunt PCB Images
The other day I was cleaning all of my NES games and came across this while cleaning my Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt cart: photo 1.JPG photo 2.JPG Is this common for NES games? Every single other game that I have uses the DIP packages. At first I thought this was a Chinese pirate repro cart, but th...

Super 8 Compatibility List
I realize that a compatibility list may exist somewhere for Famiclones, but I couldn't find one for the Super 8. The Super 8 is superior to a bunch of more modern Famiclones since it has been confirmed to run Castlevania III with MMC5 mapper support built into the NOAC. I'm not sure about other MMC5...

Re: SNES Game Doctor SF7 Restored
It's possible that my floppy drive was damaged by the wrong polarity. My RAM is fine though after changing the polarity on the power connector. I just stripped the cables and reattached them correctly. I did self test on the system and everything reports a good status. You are correct about the Game...

Re: SNES Game Doctor SF7 Restored
It's great you got it figured out. Someone donated one of these to me a while back and it's quite nice. I love the optional real-time save state feature, including being able to save it on disk. It sometimes glitches, but it's very helpful for hard games. It also has patching of a game in RAM, maki...

Re: Broken SNES Game Doctor SF7 For Sale
I got everything working again. It turns out that I had the polarity reversed on my power supply for the SF7 and that was causing problems. I did have to change the floppy drive as the one in the unit was broken. I had a new floppy drive that I bought a few years ago with the intent to install in my...

Re: Broken SNES Game Doctor SF7 For Sale
After taking apart my SF7 and playing with different configurations, I was able to get the main menu to come up again. It turns out that one of my 64mbit RAM sticks is bad and my floppy drive is toast. Other than that, I was able to get my 32mbit stick and my working 64mbit stick to be recognized by...

Re: Purchasing Tri-Star Super 8
Yeah, the guy I bought the Super 8 from on eBay is very nice to deal with. He seems to speak somewhat broken English, but I would definitely buy from him again. It's too bad that international shipping is high. He does have a bunch of cool stuff for sale. I'm hoping that my Super 8 comes in next wee...
