Insofar as the case, I have a friend with one of those 3D plastic printers (3D modeling plastic layer-based sculptor), so if I render a case in Lightwave, he can knock them out for me a couple at a time. I also know someone that can do plastic moulding (he does repro tail lamps for classic cars), so...

Uhh....what is in the second half of the ROM that I'd be deleting? I can easily remove the latter 512K in a HEX editor, but what a simple way to change the registry for the number of banks? After all is said and done, wouldn't the game code thereafter reference missing data? -Xious To fix the 1MB DW...

I'm sure it depends greatly on how it is marketed. Heck, he could try to license it to Nintendo for them to sell, pre-loaded with games. Frankly, enforcing such a law would be tricky at best, especially for the import/export market. I would still be interested in either having one custom-built (I am...

Crapola...you're right. There's no way to use .FDS images with the MGD1 approach, so I'm back at the beginning again. I forgot that the MGD1 had its own unique format for FDS images... Rewriting bad disks is only an afterthought: it'd be nice to be able to do so, but the patched RPGs are my priority...

OK, I blame it on a combination of bad eyesight and using my photos as a guide. In the photos, the brown bands looked red and the gold looked kind of brown. I had a trick of a time seeing the markings clearly enough to find R3, much less the tiny ratings markings. I’m old. Sorry. Even so, I would he...

R3 seems to be 1k±5% … Looks 6to me like Red/G6reen/Red/Gold. The last band may be brown, but I think it’s gold. Of it’s brown, you’d need 1k±1% … Either way, it’s the exact same part as R10, so you can use that as a reference. I took a slew of hi-res photos of the logic board from one of my NES2 (R...

HoriTrak
Does anybody else one one of these (HoriTrak)?
I have one that is brand new, but the ball doesn't seem to register any input.
I tried it with 'Rampart': Nothing from the ball, but its dpad works perfectly.
Are there games out there that use it as an analogue controller, or is mine defective?

To the designer of the PowerPak...
I don't know if he reads this forum, but if the guy who designed the PowerPak is lurking about, I have a question: Would you be willing to custom-make a PowerPak for the Famicom in a Famicom cartridge body? Or sell the parts to do so with a diagram? I'd rather have a dedicated "PowerPak FC"...

Right'o. The Totek cable is why I want an MGD1... Does anybody know if the MGD6 iis also usable with the Totek cable to write to FDS disks from a PC? It looks like an upgrade of the MGD1, but I don't know if it'll work in the same way... I really want to write some patch disks (translations) and I h...

I’ve found that it's often better to know *why* something may or may not work, rather than to just assume that it won't at all. There isn’t a definitive yes/no answer to the question on European titles and that's good all-purpose information on PAL video in any case, which may help other people curi...
