Thanks a lot for the inside info, byuu, that's always great to hear! I hope some day the issues you mentioned get sorted out. By the way, bsnes is fantastic. It really helps when I have to test my code. I absolutely adore the debugger. Without the memory editor, I'm completely certain I'd never be a...

Ah, right... You only need to set bit 0 of $4200 once. Noted.

Also, I already had the wait for joypad stuff. But I accidentally put rep #$30 after the check, which probably meant I waited too long from when the joypad was ready to actually reading it.

Thanks, tepples, it now works as it should!

I knew it was something ridiculous, but this... Thanks, mic_! I have to be more careful with the P reg... Btw, Mario moves a bit differently than I would have expected him to. If I tap Right fairly quickly (without trying too much), but at constant speed, Mario only moves once every two taps...

n00b SNESdev questions

Okay, here's some code I threw together with help of Bazz's tutorial (available here ). In bsnes it works fine, so I thought it should work on the SNES PowerPak after a quick ucon64 -padn=524288. It doesn't. The point is showing a Mario sprite in the middle of the screen and doing nothing until Righ...

Thanks for the info, tepples.

All it took was a lifted pin 127 of SA-1 (with the lockout back in) and an Addams Family PAL case (not that I'm a big fan of taking other games apart, but the Addams Family PCB doesn't really need a case that is thrice its size :D).

The game works perfectly.

Hm. My modded SNES has lockout disabled. Is that a problem? The unmodded one does not. Also, you can plug a PAL game into the back of the HB converter. I thought that took care of the lockout (if it wasn't disabled in the console already). EDIT: OK, I saw story the whole across other forums. So ther...

SMRPG on PAL SNES via Honey Bee converter

I just bought a copy of the Super Mario RPG game from the US and would like to play it on (at least one) of my PAL SNES(es). One of them is 50/60hz modded, so I'd prefer to play it on that one, of course. I'm using a Honey Bee Super-Magic Game Converter. When powered up the game does absolutely noth...

Adding pull-up resistors to a Four Score

This question of mine seems to be falling on deaf ears in #nesdev, so I thought I might ask it here. :D I would like to add pull-up resistors to my European NES Four Score (the idea is being able to use it with my US toaster and, simultaneously, 2 EU and 2 US controllers). Can anyone point me to or ...

Uh-oh... And what's the first NES game I decided to buy and play on my PAL machine until I fix up an NTSC one? Yup, you guessed it... MM3. :D I haven't checked out the glitch to avoid spoilers, hopefully it won't prove insurmountable! EDIT: Aw, man... My g/f and I just got to Dr. Wily. I could barel...

Need a single RP2C07

So, right now I have two working SNESs and two NESs, one of which works and the other one doesn't. The defunct little tyke must be kinda sad and lonely, right? Anyway, if someone would sell me a single working RP2C07 (PAL PPU), I'd really appreciate it. It seems to be the source of the whole p...
