Re: FamicomBox

0.01 on the horseshoe looking setting. Shorted transformer which is causing more current to flow and blowing that fuse. EDIT 1: What about your mate's reading? This more for people who find this thread. You will need to get a new transformer by the sounds of things but doing a quick parts look I can...

Re: FamicomBox

For the multimeter settings, put it to the bottom right setting, the group in green with the horseshoe looking symbol(an ohm by the way, the SI unit for electrical resistance). Start from the top (2000K) and work your way down until it stops saying OL(overload),MAX,etc. If you get all the way down t...

Re: FamicomBox

An easy way to test the transformer is to take your one out of circuit by desoldering it and taking your mates one out as well and measuring the resistance across the output. Compare the outputs of the 2 and tell us what you get for both. No need for desoldering, it is just screwed in(unles you mea...

Re: FamicomBox

By passing a fuse is just stupid to be honest. Now that that is out of the way it could be a whole lot of things. If something does not work like this, always put it through a ultrasonic bath first taking care not to clean components that have lacquer on it(for example the 2 transformers in there), ...

I own both the normal version and the lite version(designed to fit in nice and snug inside a DS Lite). Excellent cart for playing GBA games and as for emulators all I ever really tried out was a NES emulator and that worked fine( I have forgotten if you had to patch homebrew to get it to work). The ...

lidnariq, you are a champion. That is getting added to the list of useful commands I have found or made over the years.

@tepples

I was going to do that as last resort. Thanks for the help though

GNU/Linux drive sorter

Just recently booted up my NES PowerPak for the first time in months and it reminded me of the annoying problem it had. The files do not sort alphabetically which can make searching for a game quite a chore. Finding a windows program to do this was fairly easy but I do not use Windows, does anybody ...

For the archiving the windows version of 7zip is a great replacement for winRAR. Does all the major formats plus it does not thave the nag screen(I know it can be removed but that can be quite hardd for some if they don't feel like dishing the money out). For GNU/Linux I use pz7zip-full(I think that...

Have not gone mine to work either. I will see if my new Kingston 4GB CF card will do the trick. I tried turning DMA on and off and reformatting my card and tried it on 2 consoles. I can try another one but I will have to go toa mates place. The weird thing is my DSE 1GB CF card(rebranded A-DATA) wo...

I had problems with updating until I formatted my CF card into a FAT32 partition and not FAT.

Would have been nice if you said NTSC only. Still very good when I could see it actually work.

Sorry about excellent photography and my CRT(why the black bar is there). If the screenshot of FCEU looks a little off it is because I could not be bothered finding out how to take screenshots(do not bother with emulators any more). http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/3641/1000150c.th.jpg I will take...
