I've seen that site, and I've considered buying from them, but they charge $15 shipping to Canada for one chip, bringing the cost to $20. Obviously a terrible deal since you can buy a whole NES for that. Memblers, you said you picked up a couple 2A03's. Would you consider selling me one? Realistical...

Well, why not just wait until I've finished editing in the pictures? I should have that done by tomorrow.

Is it OK if I wikify this tutorial? As long as I'm credited. I plan on updating this tut with pictures to ease the process, so it might be in everyone's best interest to wait until I at least do that. I think it's backwards because the diagram I posted is looking at it from the end of the connector...

Yes indeed, but for whatever reason the diagram in the link you provided is backwards. Since there's no reason why not to at this point, I'll post my tutorial here. This works great and I feel others should try this as well. This tutorial will instruct you in how to build yourself a Mayflash NES/SNE...

My ears thank you for all your hard work. I remember there was a lot of talk about if Megaman 9 was possible to be ported to the real NES. What of Megaman 10? Anyone think it will ever be done?

The Famiclone I have is an exact hardware clone of a real Famicom except that it supports AV instead of RF. What I want to do has already been done by a friend who has the exact same Famiclone, only his is from 1991 and mine is 1990. http://133fsb.wordpress.com/2009/11/28/restoring-a-nice-famiclone-...

Hmm..that's slightly outside of my price range. I was hoping for a tool to do the job for less than $20.

If I'm not mistaken, I need a RP2A03 and RP2C02. It's a long shot, but could I buy the chips themselves from anyone?

How to remove NES CPU & PPU ICs?

I have an old Famiclone from 1990 that is a complete hardware clone of a Famicom and not a NOAC. I opened it up recently and noticed that has socketed connectors for its CPU and PPU. Since its chips it uses are clones and not as good as the real thing, I want to drop in the chips I have on an NES th...

It depends on how important it is to you. If you think it's worth repairing them go for it; don't let anyone discourage you.

DB-9 to NES 7pin plug tutorial - for NES and Wii

Hey all, I recently picked up a Mayflash NES/SNES to Wiimote adapter (info here) http://www.mayflash.com/wii/w005/w005.htm The thing works great, SNES controllers are fluid and responsive. The problem is that the adapter's NES port isn't the typical US NES and Japanese AV Famicom 7pin standard. Inst...

I've never used krynar ...I'm not entirely sure even what it is. Can you explain it and why I would want to use it? In any case, I'd like to keep costs down by avoiding buying additional products. Speaking of which, I am going to need something to stick the DVD PCBs to the NES plastic shell. I've co...

Okay thanks for all your help so far guys. Next up is the NES power PCB itself. Looking at it, following its traces aren't so obvious to a novice. Can someone please help me make sense of it?

I'm still not sure if the DVD player's power button has a momentary push button or a latch push button. The specific model is Coby DVD288 1080p Upconversion DVD Player With HDMI. Here's some information about the power button that might prove useful: Unlike the NES power button, the Coby's power but...
