Re: Barry Leitch Music

How does this work? I'm curious if there is some ways that it would be usable for making music for SMB 2. (I hope I don't sound like a noob) Sorry to tell you this but with his material, you're pretty much on your own. I say this because I'm still working on sorting it out. Some of the stuff uses a...

That's pretty awesome in the video and what you're doing. I may try to learn how to use the tracker later on. But for now, I'm just more comfortable using a hex editor and assembly text files. I used some commercial music drivers to make some basic scales played simutaneously on each of the channels...

I haven't looked into it much, but what's the difference between Pulsar and NTRQ? All I know right now is that both of them seem to be trackers.

Unfortunately, at the moment NTRQ kind of confuses me, especially since I don't know how to use a tracker yet.

Here is the asm file that I converted to ASM6. You can get the original copy on Chris Covell's site inside the NSF ripping document.

Have you guys seen the player code for the NESM spec? The code was converted by Chris Covell and in turn I converted to ASM6 here recently. You can take any NSF and use the tune switching code with it. It's mapper 0 and only has enough graphics in it to display the number of the tune. You change tun...

FCEUX has conditional breakpoints. Also, both versions of Nintendulator have bank information in the debugger.

Awesome. That really looks like a useful feature. I may try it soon, but not for while since I'm involved in several assembly projects with ASM6. I am interested though.

That's interesting how you're designing this game. Let me know how it turns out. Also, are you planning on adding a music driver?

That looks pretty neat and a good start. I assume that you work on scrolling first before adding a sprite character and collision detection?

I don't know since I haven't made a game before.

which license can we use this under? is it just a look-but-don't-touch-license or as free as the mit license? Unfortunately, it's not under any kind of free use license that I'm aware of. Jeroen Tel gave me permission to use this source and distribute it. His exact words: Because it says "Robo...

Barry Leitch Music

I have another package to release by Barry Leitch and he also gave me permission to distribute this package. There is a lot of good stuff in here from NES and many other console systems. Some of the stuff looks to be unusable and are also missing files. I mailed him asking him to look for the missin...

You bet. I've been working on that lately. Some of the stuff has missing files and some packages you really can't use without the original hardware device.

Yeah, the source code is on his website. You can only look at his site via Internet Explorer. http://e.ys168.com/?maxzhou88
