Hey, I've decided to aid on in your quest of this game. I'm sure that you probably don't want to mess with it much. The official rip that I'm going to release only has the tunes and some of the voice samples. Unfortunately, there is a problem with these that I haven't been able to solve as you'll se...

For example, MMC1 or mapper 1 uses 16K sized banks. MMC4 uses 8K banks. Since when? I thought MMC4 (Fire Emblem, Famicom Wars) was the 16 KiB bank version of MMC2 (Punch-Out!!), which does use 8 KiB banks. Did you mean "MMC3 (mapper 4)", which also uses 8 KiB banks? Correction: MMC3. It w...

Using FCEU and other versions such as FCEUX can tell you what the mapper of the game is, using a NES header header can also tell you, also a hex editor. The reason why you want to know what the mapper is so that you can know what the bank size select that is loaded into memory. For example, MMC1 or ...

But still don't understand 99% How do I know which specifications to use for a specific game...? I don't quite understand what you mean by specifi...

That is correct. NES2NSF splits a ROM into banks. By using the INI file, you can specify what size banks you want. For example, 4K, 8K, 16K, and even 32K. You can also specify the detection method based on writes to $4015. STA $4015, STY $4015, STX $4015. You can also specify if you wish to append a...

Is why I only ripped the voice samples from the title screen awhile back. I didn't want to go through all that work of ripping the entire game as it's a mess.

That is really weird. I use Opera almost religiously, and even edit my site in Opera. I have never had that problem. I am using Opera 9.24, build 8816.

Perhaps some of your Opera settings are messed up, or there is a bug in the version your using.

Works friggen awesome so far! :D The only glitch I've seen in my short test period was some random graphical glitches while playing this song: http://home.comcast.net/~jerryatrick/494.nsf . It was just some random garbage that appeared and changed to the music (sort of a garbled spectrum analyzer :...

I've been working on a few of those off and on for awhile. Like Wheel of Fortune for example. Some of them would be better ripped as NSF2 format, unless you're planning on doing some extensive hacking, or ripping them in a certain way for a particular NSF player, which means lower compatibility in s...

Re: Fixing door door?

Dwedit wrote:Since Door Door's music driver is driven by APU Frame IRQ instead of vblanks, and also is very sensitive to what values are read back from the length counters, wouldn't a fixed NSF require a nonreturning init function?
Maybe NSF2 would cover that.
