Schematic for UM6561?
Well first of all HAPPY NEW YEAR  I want to make a mini Famicom clone by using UM6561 + two EPROM so that I can run simple NROM games on it. I am testing the circuit on a breadboard : http://s8.picofile.com/file/8281383776/BreadboardS.jpg I found a Dendy schematic which is based on UM6561 but ...

Re: NES Screen Tool
I'm pretty sure that the artist is more important than the tools. A good artist will make do with the crappiest of tools, but not even the best software in the world will improve the work of a bad artist. I agree with you, but those who follow Nerdy Nights nes programming tutorials (including I mys...

Re: NES Screen Tool
Ideally you draw with the palette restrictions in mind, rather than drawing an image, and then trying to constrain it to palettes. It's much better to let artists choose their own limitations during the creation process, and just create the final product by exporting/converting. So which suggestion...

Re: NES Screen Tool
A customized graphic drawing software for NES can help the designer to stay within the limitations while drawing the picture.
Designing the graphic with modern softwares and then converting it to use with NES gives me really headache.
I bet nes designers used such a customized software back then.

Re: NES Screen Tool
Thank you it works now
What is the rule to arrange those colors?
Do I have to visually check out the adjacent colors and put them in one group?
Is there any tutorial on how to covert a picture to tileset, name table + attribute, palette?

Re: NES Screen Tool
I swapped (drag and drop) and replace (ctrl + drag and drop) the palettes.
But as you can see the whole colors are messed up!
