I had no idea that programmers had to pre-pay for a production run on Retrousb. If that's true, then that really makes little sense for them to tell you what you can and can't do with your own ROM. It would be bad, but that simply isn't true. You only prepay if you want boxes (because of the 250 mi...

Historically Nintendo has only gone after current gen equipment. Bung in the 90s was current gen. The PowerPak is not. There are far bigger targets in the DS flash cart market, and repro makers would be a much easier case. With the PowerPak having no Nintendo copyrights/trademarks/patents (except de...

Your insistance on bashing me and trying to make people belive the black market is my invention The "black market" has been around more than a decade, and possibly older than all of the NesDev site/boards. Your invention is the idea that everyone asking wiring questions is trying to scam ...

That one. A minority have decided it is now a problem and would rather be hostile instead of helping, or even just ignoring it.

This is all in your imagination. Until you show that any single person who posted here has actually sold a cart as a prototype, it is just your paranoia driving this whole thing. I know for a fact there were numerous people selling Earthbound as a prototype on eBay in the past. I didn't save these ...

3) I am however opposed to people asking information about blatantly illegal stuff on Nesdev, because it could lead to trouble on the site. Then what should happen to all the people who post NSFs? Where is your poll about shutting them down? 4) I am opposed to people selling fake catrs, whenver the...

If something happens to vgmusic.com or snesmusic.org, on the other hand, I might change my tune. I wouldn't sweat it too much. vgmusic has been up for over a decade. So has nesreproductions.com. Don't know about gamereproductions.com, but Leon has been around ~12 years with no problems from Nintend...

[quote="Bregalad"] My point was just that if it's repressed to download a ROM, then it should repressed to download a ROM and put it on a cart. This is purely logical. However, it seems people on this board are very careful about not linking any commercial ROMs being afraid of Nintendo com...

You were right : it is becoming a problem. I'll try a new tack: finding how to be snarky while maintaining a civil tone. Almost 2/3rds say it isn't a problem, but now you have decided it is? The guy you are linking to even did all the research to find out which donor, how to burn chips, what rewiri...

3'rd save slot.
The cart only has 8KB of WRAM, so your 32KB save may already have something wrong.

Considering that lots of this would end up in landfills otherwise (most people don't bother recycling plastics unless it's costing them to throw it away, and who needs a thousand copies of SMB/DH or some common LJN games?), I think it's good to recycle the old parts whenever possible. If the repro ...

No, I'm claiming that doesn't matter. Once the cart is open the chips on the board give it away, so gamereproductions is doing the same indication of it not being a prototype. Real protection against that would be put on the outside of the cartridge where a buyer would see it.

I think Bregalad isn't against profit itself, but rather people who don't seem to provide any service and attempt to hide their profiteering activities. They both provide the same service, with about the same profit. Compare the games they have in common and you will see a small difference in price...
