Chip speed

When choosing chips (EPROM or Flash) what speed would you suggest? When ordering from this site I noticed that they have chips with speeds from 150ns to 45ns. What should I get?

AH! I got the 'A' mixed up with the 'O'... sorry about that. But why mention that it doesn't have a PGR RAM?

Thanks for the information about the V-RAM chip not needing to be programmed.

My only question (and it's a very newbie one, so I apologize) is... do you just buy an 8-k RAM chip and plop it in or does it need to be programmed?

I'm sorry. I should have been more clear to answer your question first before I rambled on about how to do it. Got too excited to share what I just learned... sorry. Plain answer: If you find a Megaman 4, Megaman 6, or Ninja Crusaders cart (TGROM board is in these) or if you own the famicom FF3j car...

Funny you should mention this! (smile) We just started talking about this one in the thread " Rewiring TLROM cart for use with W27E512 ". I found out some information since I last posted there that I can share with you here. From the ROM LABORATORY FORUM "nesorama" posted: "...

Flash ROM's are good if you want to rewrite games over and over. If you plan on keeping the games for good, just buy regular EPROM's ( http://www.futurlec.com/ICEPROM.shtml ). I was wanting to make individual carts for each game and keep them for good. Sucks being obsessive/compulsive (laughs). Amo...

Thanks, Tokumaru. I know it's really a newbie question... but I had really been wondering why you had to bend pins and re-route pins to other parts of the boards.

Thanks, Tokumaru. I hope you can use them. I will am wanting to burn the translated 'Destiny of an Emperor' onto an EPROM and I see it uses a '512k' PRG chip and a '0k' CHR chip and I was unable to figure out how to proceed using a 'Tecmo Basketball' TKROM board (this is the appropriate board, isn't...

Would it make a difference if you use 32 or 28 pins for these conversions or is 32 pin EPROMS just assumed to be the accepted? I ask this myself as i'm starting to find many of my TKROMs that i'm planning on using for my new carts have the 28 pin PRGs in them already and i'm wondering if I should us...

Why ROM pinouts are different than EPROMs?

In simple terms? Is there a good reason or is it just that Nintendo ROM programmers did it to make things difficult?

So, if I may ask, what is the proper chip modification for the TLROM board? I don't see it on the big list here.

Being a beginner too looking to do the same thing (not make one DEV Cart but place one ROM on one cart permanently)... what's the largest size EPROMs i'll need for general usage do you think?

Thanks for the help, gang.
