Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's
DaveyPocket did some additional things and we figured out something: Sending 00 or 88 to register 00 of the $2199 serial port (it sends address then data) of the Satellaview changes the audio channel. This does not seem to affect Mode B (one stereo track), while Mode A offers 2 stereo tracks, it is ...

Re: Could you broadcast to real Satellaview hardware?
But that's one-to-one, not one-to-many transmission :P I hear small sats are relatively cheap to launch nowadays. Well I don't see how you could not do something like Internet Server -> PC / Raspberry Pi Client -> sd2snes. Also satellites are not that relevant anymore and I don't really want to add...

Re: Could you broadcast to real Satellaview hardware?
Well I would be all for the use of sd2snes' USB port as an equivalent, which is entirely doable I think.

Re: Could you broadcast to real Satellaview hardware?
It's possible in theory if you understand the bitstream data that goes in it, but for other than for documentation purposes, I personally want no one to do that because Satellaview preservation is in such a bad shape, I don't want people to rewrite their Memory Pack that may have gold in it but didn...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's
Sound Journal for Lovers info: So far the only software I found out to use both Stream 1 & 2 of Satellaview. Uses Software Channel 1.2.2.145 - 1.2.2.150 to download image data (album covers, artist photo, etc) to Memory Pack for a selection of tracks at a time (about 2 or 3 tracks it seems). Mea...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's
Well DaveyPocket got ahold of a BS Encoder (Kenwood BS-3600), and it generates BS signals from back then, and guess what? (Warning: Loud) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mrze-Z027c It works on the Satellaview hardware! :) This will be super helpful. Hoping to find some documentation on the device a...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's
Isn't 0E:5000 just a way to apply changes? Or is it that our comprehension of it was completely wrong from the start and all changes are actually instant?

Re: SNES CD-ROM question
I just want to correct a few things about SNES CD: There are two of them, there's the Super Disc from Sony, the prototype that we ended up getting, which is just basically a regular double speed CD-ROM drive plugged to the EXT port alongside a BIOS cartridge. Then there's the Philips one that adds t...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's
For some registers it would be interesting to see their values when reading more than once, eg. bits 2193 might be cleared after reading (so you might see 9F,00,00,00...), on the other hand, reading 2191 might load new nonzero bits into 2193. I may have done a terrible job for other registers, but ...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's
You have made a tool that makes the Satellaview option non-selectable in Itoi? No, I meant that the tool reads registers and serial registers, so while E00000h may seem weird, and uses the BS-X BIOS functions, Itoi does seem to have a similar output since the Satellaview option isn't selectable. Ye...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's
I just tried Itoi Bass Fishing on my SFC + Satellaview setup: The Satellaview option is not selectable. So I suspect my tool actually works just fine. EDIT: Made sure if Itoi was reading $2196 or not. It doesn't so I'm guessing it only cares about that $2199 and $2194. EDIT2: For some reason, I neve...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's
Okay, there is a serial number under the satellaview... Is that the same thing as the barcode on this picture: https://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/0/8464/857198-satellaview1.jpeg ? Well, that isn't under the satellaview, but maybe they've plastered it with the same barcode everywhere. I a...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's
The serial number I was talking about that's in the EEPROM is something like this that I found: BSA00??????? A4h FFh FFh FFh and so on... Each byte is repeated twice on each 16-bit word. The ??????? matches my Satellaview's serial number. Also I only gave a quick look and I admit that while Direct B...

Re: BS-X Satellaview Datapak's
So I've done a bit of research about Satellaview register $2198. While I did notice about the serial number being found, I admit I didn't try to find the nature of all the BIOS functions dedicated for it. And eventually I found something in the Satellaview patents. Because Nintendo is nice to the pe...

Woah the judgmental thinking out of nowhere that just makes me think how bad of a person you are because of some pronouns. Even tepples is doing the pronouns thing.Alp wrote:Pronouns in their bio? They have nothing of value to say. They're clearly just one of those Tumblr crazies.
